Just had a call from a Company offering some form of server facility to improve marketing on Google.
He asked for atlantis (swingers club in Stoke) and I pointed out that we were not them we were a guest house supplying a service to the club, so he tried to sell me the product instead.
I explained that we did not want any interest from Google searchers, this seemed to surprise him and he asked somewhat indignantly "so you don't want any new customers"
I said our customers came by way of word of mouth, advertising by the clubs themselves and specific internet sites dedicated to our market.
He tried to tell me that Google was better than all that because it targetted all markets, age groups, etc not just those in the older age group ? I asked him if he knew what atlantis was - he said "Yes its a dance hall for people who enjoy 60s music", the Swinging 60s, I said no it is for couples who enjoy swinging with other couples, to which he replied oh "singing and playing music and Kareoke"
I of course said no SWINGING, lots of playing but only with each others instruments.
He said "that's disgusting" and put the phone down.
Oh dear, the poor man, I think it will take him a long time to get that round his head, he sounded quite upset. :thrilled: bolt dunno
Of all the people, in all the towns, in all the countries on this earth.... he had to get you answering his call! rotflmao I bet that's one of those stories he'll be dining out on for ages. And you never know, he might turn up on your doorstep looking for some after-club accommodation some day soon.
Yes methinks the man doth protest too much wink
You would have thought he would have googled it first lol
Doesn't say much for his companies abilities does it wink

From the sound of it he was just a scammer anyway, offering a way to get on page #1 of potential customers' web searches.
Odd that a scammer would be so reviled by such a wholesome activity as swinging though lol
