I have no idea, but it’s a great distraction from the chaos that’s going on amongst our elected representatives!

Nope.... simples.

Sadly, things are never as clear cut as they appear in the media (they have to sell papers/air time to get advertising revenue) so its difficult to see through the spin.

In this case I’m minded to wonder why she thought joining the so called Islamic State was her only life choice.  Was she born with that urge? Obviously not.  So it’s a case of indoctrination.  After all, nobody is born a racist, or a homophobe, so why an IS sympathist?

She was 15 when she left the UK (don’t get me started on how she managed to arrange that!) so obviously less than fully mature.  I know I was still making questionable life choices well into my 20s, so it’s understandable that her age played into things. She’s now 19 and has had four years to experience life as it really is, as opposed to the one that was sold to her.  In those four years it’s reported that she’s delivered two other children, both of whom died from malnutrition.  Is it any wonder she’s now exploring other options?

Now, on to the emotive part where she’s seemingly showing no remorse, and outwardly still supporting her IS beliefs.  Why is she doing that?  Is she really still dedicated to those beliefs? Surely if that were the case she’d never dream of asking the  scum for help?  Or, as is more likely the case, is she too frightened to admit her change of heart whilst still under the care and control of those who pulled her away from her family and life in the UK? She’s seen how they treat those infidels, so why would she let on that she wants to go back to being one?

Like I said, it’s hard to say what actually goes on beneath the covers of the media, and I’m sure the government were rubbing their hands with glee when the story broke (how better to distract from the chaotic state of a pre-Brexit country?). But, if you take a step back and look at the situation with a measure of sympathy - not in the feeling sorry for her sense, but as in “how would it be for me or my daughter if I were in that situation” - you might get some understanding of what turmoil she’s going through.

Of course, she might just be an evil terrorist bitch trying to smuggle bombs into the UK.  Who knows? dunno.gif

Two weeks later and Shamima Bagum has dropped out of the news and disappeared from the refugee camp she was claiming to be stuck in. I wonder where she'll be and what her name will be when/if we next hear from her. Could it possibly be that a frightened misled and misunderstood little girl would have considered taking a new identity and returning through the back door? Surely not but if she had, she could be well on her way back to a life in Bethnal Green by now.

 Could be, 242

answer to the OP, in relation to Shamima Bagum, yes she should be allowed back.  However abhorrent her views are to the vast majority of the public, she is a British citizen, she is our problem.  If, because of someones views or actions we refuse to allow them back into the UK, where do we stop, 's, murderers, extreme left / right wing views, football hooligans, Nigel Farage, (or for balance) Tony Blair etc.  What we do with them when they come back is different - children into care with families that can bring them up properly then lock the nutters up and throw away the key.

Did she actually have a baby in the first place? I've not seen and images of the claimed baby she was trying to use as a ticket back to the UK.

Since banishment is not a legal option, I don't see how we can stop a citizen from returning. Of course, if she's not a citizen the blessed EU will tell us whether we have to let her back in.
