lots of ppl in these topics shouting on about labour this n labour that, i do hope the condervatives win, and then give it a few months then it will be the con's this and the con's that. and at the end of the day thay are all as bad a each other and nothing will change, well maybe Vat will go up to 22% under the con's
David Cameron does seem a good leader and decision maker etc but it's difficult cos u never know if they're all talk, or they mean what they say. I'd like to think the latter :-)
Labour may do ok if they got shot of Gordon Brown.

Their anbition and drive and wish to be an elcted representative in the UK politicla system are sufficient causes for me not to trust any of them as far as I could throw them.

Have to say I pretty much agree with you Ben, although this current lot need to be cleaned out. As for VAT going up to 22% under a future Tory Government, it will go up under a new government of any colour, along with a whole lot of other taxes
problem is really....you can't see the join between new labour and the conservatives. David cameroon just keeps quite and keeps head down.....but in reality his party advocate most of the things..that poeple are now moaning about with current government. The fact is..almost without a doubt..the conservatives will win the next election by de-fault, as it will be more a protest vote against the current labour administration. Then we will see....if he is a leader or not. I do fear for the less well off, as we all know difficult decisions have to made to save money in the future....!!
The biggest problem any Government has had to face is the recent one, of the expenses scandal. Cameron at least got his party by the balls and shook them hard.
Labour and its MP's were the main problem with the ammounts and reasons they nicked the money. Even Brown has had to pay money back.
This lot are out it is as simple as that, they know it and the electorate know it. The question will be by how much. If the polls are anything to go by and they ain't usually far out, they are in for a bit of a trumping.
The main issues for me at the next election will be.....immigration, health, and Europe, as I feel that is one of the biggest hidden dangers this country faces...being semi run by unelected twats from Europe with tony ( I am a saint ) Blair at the helm.
Also what kind of cuts the Tories will have to make to get us all out of the shit, with regards to the wankers/bankers scandal.
I have voted Labour in the past, but never again. They have destroyed so many good things about this countries history, and their immigration policy, or open door policy, has helped to put a financial nail into a lot of local Governments pockets.
Tories for me this time, but it will take years, if ever, for them to return Britain to the great country it once was, instead of the laughing stock across Europe that it has now become.....push over Britain at your service sir!!

Yeah Cameron may have grabbed them by the balls, that had nothing to do with politics of course ...it was pure intregity all the way...besides i'm sure that Tory MP must have claimed more than most of the Labour MP's put together...£100,000 wasn't it?

Now i'm very surprised you missed this one...i mean you being an avid reader and supporter of The Scum...i'll put it down to selective reading then!
I'd like to see a coalition government, (trying hard not to say hung parliament on this site). If no single party gets an overall majority then the smaller groups could hold the ballance of power, a kind of proportional representation scenario.
It is the only way things are likely to change even slightly.

You don't think that was maybe because Cameron was confronted by a big long list of absolute gravy trainers, and thought to himself, we're never gonna get elected with twats like these in the papers day in day out? dunno Labour were the worst? Really? What papers you been reading? ;)
You'll be telling me Nick Clegg is a 'never took a penny in his life', thoroughly principled human being next? confused lol
The simple fact is, we have one choice, and only one choice. Cuts by Labour ministers, or cuts by Tory ministers. There may be a very small sliver of paper between the two, but not so much as you'd notice. We are after all run by banks and big business these days, which is why we're where we are right now.
The idea that an elected Govt ((( Elective dictatorship? ))) is really in power, and empowered to change our day to day lives in any meaningful way, given that it's the globalised economy that actually dictates our daily lives is laughable, IMHO.
I'll not be voting Labour for a very long time, and it pains me to say that as a life-long leftie desperate to be rid of Thatcher and her ilk, but I feel absolutely betrayed by them. I sure as hell won't be voting Tory. Again, it pains me to say it, but looks like spoiled ballots all round I think ((( again! ))) and I genuinely hate the idea, and have a massive problem with wasting my right to vote.
N x x x ;)

Thats because Brown must be accepting the fact he has lost the next election so why bother, where as Cameron know the only way to win the next election is to set examples...saying that i still think he is doing it to suit himself rather than the fact, what they were all doing was wrong.
Cameron has publicly stated that any of his lot who refuse to repay any monies that they are asked to, will not be allowed to stand at the next election. Whether that be for his own benefit or not, at least its taking some action in the right direction.
Some people can't win either way it seems!!

Well i'm not ready to put my trust in him...just because he "talks the talk"...i thought the sun shined out of Blair's arse before he became PM...that won't happen again!

Actually I do share your cynicism.....but it's good to see a politician actually taking some positive action for once.

There goes the myth that I thought you was a clever geezer...obviously as thick as me then. Because I got sucked into the Blair bollocks too.

well he had more charisma than Major and a catchier theme tune...he was a breathe of fresh air (nearly 20 years of tory rule that was fucking stale now)...thats why i will not be falling for that old bollocks again...regardless of what party they are and how sincere they come across...they all turn into lying, cheating, backstabbing wankers in the end!

Because he "talks the talk" isn't it time we found out if he "walks the walk"?
He appears to have integrity and morals...surely a nice combination for a Prime Minister for once.
Forget this "labour is for the poor" and "tories for the rich" lets just hope the next governmebt is for the people of Great Britain.

Would be a lovely thought.....we can live in hope.
it makes absolutely no difference who you vote into her majesty's parliament. its all theatre for our consumption and to maintain the myth of democracy. her majesty's government will serve the interests of the economically most powerful institutions in society and that aint us. that goes for "new" labour, "modern" conservative, old liberal or any other of "her majesty's governments" or her "loyal" opposition.
as the congress in the u.s. serve's wall st, so parliament serve's the city and we, in main st, will have to pay for it!

As you well know kenty the labour party has for many years now made your beloved Margaret look like a lilly livered liberal...the labour party are no less a servant of global capitalism than any conservative government has ever been
Staggers.....the worst load of crap this Government has brought in, is the dreaded Human Rights crap.
Ol Maggs would never ever have tolerated that piece of rubbish.
They have fecked up big time with that, as people who should have no rights, are having solicitors bending over backwards to use the Human rights laws.
Criminals are using it to escape punishment, and the most mad thing I have heard is that prison officers have to wear trainers of a night, as they are not allowed to wake them....it is their human right to sleep peacefully.
I know that to be true as a prison officer told me.
Human rights laws......fine if it is used correctly, and not to be used by people deliberately exploiting it.
Good old Maggie instigated most of this "human rights crap" by negotiating the Maastricht treaty her little boy John bloody signed it...so that would be conservatives not labour...
P.S. if i were a prison officer i think i'd rather wear trainers......sleep deprivation is considered torture under the Geneva convention....let the buggers sleep it's common sense
