I don't know you from the next person, I don't know details of the history behind you being banned but I guess my view is that I value honesty and if you had been honest by coming back with your original name then people could have made an informed choice as to whether they wanted to interact with you. If as you say, you had done nothing to be ashamed of then surely there wouldn't have been such a song and dance. If you'd had the desire to clear your name then you wouldn't have hidden behind another name. I'm sure you're smart enough to know the issues sock puppets cause and the only thing anyone appears to be concerned about is their privacy.
I'm inclined to believe there's no smoke without fire and by being dishonest about your identity, you've done nothing but fuel the flames. Since you mentioned school kid behaviour, I do believe you started it. :mrgreen:

The ban amnesty is a good thing. The fact that "all bans are off" has poured some much needed water on a wilting forum. It isn't the only reason why some of the old crew are back, in fact, many of the old crew now posting regularly were never banned anyway

What has been confusing, distasteful, and made me twitchy has been the amount of users who have spoken to me, clearly knowing a lot about me from old, but I have had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA who they were in return. When asked who they were none have responded. Except one --- Rogue Trader (thank you), you did

The events, for all parties concerned, are too distasteful to be dragged up again.
