We've done our bit (not that there was much choice).
Is everyone voting (assuming your local council are up for the boot) and if not why not ?
We will be going to the polling station a little later although I'm at a loss as too who to vote for especially out of the main three as they are all a shower of shite in my opinion. Looks like i'll vote for a no hope independent which in itself might make the independent feel better but make f*ck all difference.
No elections in Leeds / West Yorkshire which I didn't realise till I started digging wondering where my polling card had got to. Quite pleased. Will save me having to drag myself down the sports club just to spoil my ballot paper. Finding someone standing I can actually put my name to has been something of a rarity this last decade or so, the shining moment in recent years was putting my cross down for the We Beat The Scum One Nil candidate. Only one of 'em said anything I could really support. lol
I will be voting later as long as hubby will drive me down to the polling station, although my vote will be pointless because the torys always get in where i live sad

When you consider the pain people have gone through to win the right to vote, particularly women, what an odd thing to say!
Voting is never pointless. A single vote can make a difference.

How very true GnV. No vote is pointless, so to the lady in question....it is YOUR right to vote and please use that vote.
( UKIP ) is the way to go. wink

As Nellie is disabled IIRC, I would wonder if she would cast her vote for a party which parks it's campaign bus in a disabled parking bay lol

Just another example of the simple fact that they are all the same .....doesn't matter who you vote for , some arrogant git who thinks they are above the law always gets in.

See what happens when you let any fucker vote. innocent
So need a 'none of the above' box to tick

The problem I find is that one of the people up for election always gets in and in most cases thats a real shame. In one area the wanker tories get in in another the twatish labour get in. Then the odd bastard lib dem creeps in on the odd occasion and that is seriously the problem with this country
As for UKIP..... They make me kip zzzzzzzzzz (yawn)

Nothing odd about it as far as i can see, the torys win by a huge majority where i live so my vote wont alter who is the winner.
It would take more than a single vote to make a difference where i live.
I am well aware of what people have gone thru to get the vote, and i am using my vote but it wont help the party i prefer.

I have no idea who you are refering to. However i have no interest in disabled parking bays and who parks there nowadays. I dont park there, i park in ordinary bays as i dont have a blue badge.
Just voted and like Nellie my vote won`t "count" ... Tories will walk it again.
Some kind of PR might have helped but the Lib Dems have blown their chances of that happening by bedding down with the Tories ... ironic really when they would have been the chief beneficiaries!
On another note i always feel let down when voting, i expect some kind of fanfare or rush of emotion ... but no one even asks me whether they can rely on my vote ... very low key
We live in a Tory strong hold so suspect our votes won't mean much, but if you don't vote you shouldn't complain. Looking at the limited choice this morning I did wonder whether UKIP will split the Tory vote.
If there isn't a person/party you positively WANT to be in power who do you vote for? I won't vote for 'best of a bad lot' since any choice then is still 'bad'. As it happens I would have voted, as I know one guy who is standing, but I wasn't able to get round to it.

I was wrong, Staffordshire ended up with an increase in labour seats at the expense of the tories although they are still in control. Whilst I am not a UKIP supporter its interesting they lost two seats they now have 2 seats against labours 24, however,UKIP polled 24% of the votes against labours 27%.
Whilst it would be a bugger to work, surely PR has to be the answer to ensure local and national government represents the voters. Staffordshire again has a tory controlled council although 64% of the voters didn't want them and overall only 10% of electorate voted for them.
