I have a from claiming migrants r 3 times more likely to be young & healthy & well qualified as such contribute more to the tax and benefits system than there receive,... how can this be anybody know the answer I would think exactly the opposite was true

Why do you think the opposite is true?

Let's turn it around and consider all the Brits who go overseas for work.  Are they scrounging off the benefits system over there, or are they contributing to the workforce and paying taxes?  And what about all the people who retire abroad? They pay local taxes, and spend their retirement money in local shops and businesses.

Why would it different the other way round?

You're quite possibly confusing migrants with refugees?

 Lol. Probably

I have no problem with people who want to come to this country and work hard and contribute to society through taxes and the skills they bring. Migrants often do jobs that British folk don't seem to want to do.

As for refugees, well Britain has always been a place that has offered shelter to those in genuine need, fleeing their homes because of persecution or oppression and I hope it will long continue to be.

I'm sure none of us want to see anyone coming to this country and 'milking the system' and I'm sure there is some of that going on but we need to be careful not to confuse them with people who genuinely are here to work or are in dire need.

Blimey - that's come across as quite heavy - sorry folks!

Not too heavy at all, a lot of common sense spoken there in my opinion.

thx Stan

Well said all we need to talk about these things.
