Do you really think you will win the lottery?
food for thought?
If I did it would be a bluddy miracle....
.... seeing as I don't buy a ticket! :lol2:
Never! If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have none!
Yes.
It's been going for years and loads of millionaires made every year ... surely, it's gonna be my turn eventually? I have as good a chance as anyone else so why not me?
I also feel like I'm meant for better things. Things are ok, I'm not suffering but there's always room for the kind of improvements only money can bring i.e., choice and freedom!
Having said that, I only actually buy a ticket now and then, when I remember!
We play the lottery, well why not?
We can afford to have a flutter, if we couldn't we wouldn't. We earn a decent wage, and can afford to risk the loss of a few quid each week.
Don't get me wrong, we aren't rolling in it, but we are at a happy medium. If we win the jackpot, we will be over the moon. But tbh a few thousand would be more than welcome.
I can totally understand people that don't play, like many things it is an individual choice.

This is correct... but a good chance it isn't, the odds for winning the larger amounts are stupendously bad.
As far as gambling goes, the lottery is a bit daft - it requires no skill and relies on our collective daydreaming. "Never lose hope", they say - that's exactly where the lottery's popularity rests on. I would like to play more, there is some satisfaction in "trying your luck" and thinking you stand a chance (a chance in hell, maybe ;) ).
I would love to have a large lottery win, not much chance I rarely do it, but if I did, obviously I would buy lot's for us and my family, maybe even some for friends but what I would most like to do is give some away.
Seriously, not the donations to charity type thing but spontaneously in the supermarket or in the ways of the secret millionaire helping those that normally don't get help with projects.
Why ? because there is no nicer feeling than helping someone especially total strangers, so I would be doing it for my own satisfaction but with the knowledge that someone else is getting something out of it too.
i won the lottery and all my numbers came up when mrs lizalenrob came along wink
I know two people who have had significant wins. But I don't hold out hope we'll be joining them! I play sporadically when I am broke (but have enough to afford a £1 play) or if I'm feeling lucky. I've yet to win so much as a tenner :mad:biggrin

There was a guy in the news who did this over Christmas - just randomly gave out cash gifts to strangers in the street. Very heart-warming.

I don't want to win more than I need. Enough for a worry-free life. Of course, I would help out everyone I care about, that goes without saying. It's no fun if you don't share it.
disclaimer: I am not a Daily Mail reader, someone sent me the link.
I'm a teacher and a maths teacher took an assembly about not relying on the lottery to make you rich ... basically the odds are that if the Lottery were going when Adam & Eve were said to be created (3500 years BC) and they had a lucky dip on a wednesday and saturday they would need to be waiting another 800 years for their first 'win' after having invested about 5.5 million in tickets ........
The odds of winning are 13,983,815 to 1 (Lotto) - about the same as finding three fit, 21 yo, brazilian women on holiday wanting to fuck you senseless smile
Win the lottery? ... don't make me laugh...if I won a monkey the bastard would bite me!

I dont care much for money, I'm real happy with my man, my chillun and how my life is, we've never had bucketloads always having to work real hard just to keep our heads above water ...but I have no intention of playing the lottery, I don't need those riches, when you haven't got it and when the chips are down ya just gotta remmber there is always a billion or more worse off than yourself.
In short, what i dont have i dont miss and I have no wish to either win/inherit any money at any point, being skint or at least close to it helps keeps things real and my feet firmly on the ground.

So let me get this right?.. If you were offered 12 Million pounds now, Youd say no?

I didn't say it was a good chance ... I know I've more chance of being struck by lightning ... I said I had as good a chance as anyone else (who is standing under a tree in a storm).
That's good enough for me to give it a go now and again, when I'm feeling lucky. I'm not one of those oddballs that HAS to put it on twice a week and join the work syndicate and then gets a sweat on 'cos they forgot to buy a scratchcard. I'm not a gambler, I just like to take a chance sometimes. It's only a quid.

You actually have more chance of getting struck by lightening twice lol Think Lee Travino has been hit three times. Guess thats what happens when you stand in a storm with a metal pole
