On occasions I have had very strong views on a subject, then while discussing it with some one else they have said some thing that suddenly makes me think, oh maybe he has a point and my views on the matter may be changed or at least softened.
Wouldn’t it be very refreshing to be watching politicians in the House of Commons debating a bill and suddenly one of them say, “Yes you’re right, you have a point”.

It would, but seeing as they are a bunch of greedy self serving hypocrites they will always be seen to tow the party line.

It`s a tricky one ....
I used to think that way but isn`t it the job of the opposition parties to do just that ?? Oppose
The waters got muddied when New Labour nicked all the Tories policies just to get elected ....the problem is they failed to admit that they were becoming Tories themselves and left a huge void in party politics.
Parliament no longer has any opposing voice ...the Tories were so bleedin confused by the fact that New Labour had got elected using their policies that they were thrown into complete disarray !!!
Everytime the government put forward a proposal the Tories were kinda stuck with the fact that it was their idea in the first place and didn`t know what the fuck to do ...
So ...apart from jeering and wailing in the house like the bunch of pathetic wankers that they are ...they were left with nothing to do but sit on their backsides and fiddle their expenses.

1997 Labour Manifesto.

Over the five years of a Labour government:
1. Education will be our number one priority, and we will increase the share of national income spent on education as we decrease it on the bills of economic and social failure
2. There will be no increase in the basic or top rates of income tax
3. We will provide stable economic growth with low inflation, and promote dynamic and competitive business and industry at home and abroad
4. We will get 250,000 young unemployed off benefit and into work
5. We will rebuild the NHS, reducing spending on administration and increasing spending on patient care
6. We will be tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime, and halve the time it takes persistent juvenile offenders to come to court
7. We will help build strong families and strong communities, and lay the foundations of a modern welfare state in pensions and community care
8. We will safeguard our environment, and develop an integrated transport policy to fight congestion and pollution
9. We will clean up politics, decentralise political power throughout the United Kingdom and put the funding of political parties on a proper and accountable basis
10. We will give Britain the leadership in Europe which Britain and Europe need

They didn't achieve much of that, did they pmsl
Some people, and this is from my own personal experience, get involved in politics for genuinely good intentions. They don't last long and are identifiable by the scars... In their backs! :0(
It depends upon your point of view.
Schools have been rebuilt, in the largest expenditure on them since the ..... oh....second world war ?
Tax stayed the same...it even went down for a while.
Economic growth increased until the financial crisis (nothing to do with labour: A product of international banking incompetence and early 90's thinking that a service industry could sustain the country)
The young unemployed were offered training, but since many were already working as drug dealers they couldn't be arsed.
The NHS was the subject of the most massive amount of public spending ever...it still is...after decades of underfunding.
OK, crime is a problem. But most criminals couldn't give a sh*t anyway ?
You cannot build strong families. They either are or are not. Their choice. Communities ditto. Their choice. It takes people and work. If nobody bothers you get nothing. In this country; nobody bothers anymore. Much.
Can't have an integrated transport policy while people use their cars to carry a fart to the outside to vent it, and everything/everywhere else. Until PEOPLE recognise that they are the transport problem it will carry-on forever.
Ok; politics was always going to be a clean-up problem. Basically, they are all crooks. Since they are responsible for cleaning-up their own mess it was always going to be a loser.
Nobody gives a shi* about europe anyway. It is lead by an unholy alliance of the worst politicians leading the worst bureaucrats leading a bad idea.
These comments are not intended to be a manifesto.
Don't take them seriously, nobody takes politics seriously anymore.
Nobody except the 600+ crooks elected to.
It depends upon your point of view.

If the financial crisis was a product of international banking then maybe the economic growth was also due to international banking and not Labour policy.

No no no no ... lol haven`t you worked it out yet ......when good things happen ....it`s government policy ...
But ....
When bad things happen ....it`s circumstances beyond their control !! wink

schools and hospitals have been built. by private (city of london) banks and hedge funds under the "private finance initiative" at a return of a garanteed 14 - 17%. forcing schools to become acadamies run by private companies for profit, hospitals to give private care for profit and charge £10 a day for parking. whilst income tax reciept went down, total percentage of gdp tax reciept rose.
economic growth increased ? the flow of credit increased and thereby dept, fueled by totally deregulated financial institutions in london, the birth place of derivitives who's demand to service in interest is greater than the gross domestic product of human activity on the planet.
new labour, just like old conservative, modern conservative, liberal do gooders and every other hue in the palace of westminster serves the interests of the economically most powerful in society and that aint me and you.
by the way, the n.h.s. has been funded by the biggest capital injection ever, private capital, at interest ! may our children (dept slaves) toil hard to repay it !

Can I ask what your solution is please?
I don't want a copy and paste, if possible, a genuine answer from you, as you've called all the major parties in the above post so who do you think will get right?

we need the right to recall all elected representatives and hold them to account for starters. we need to repudiate all dept and only allow the state to issue dept/credit on behalf of the people at minimal interest, not private international banks. from there many other things would flow. the citizens need to be heard and inclusive in all political/economic decision making. truth should be our watchword, not lies and corruption which should be exposed and punished.
What solution do you want ?
There are a variety of possible solutions, practically all will not be liked by many.
Everyone wants free health and no taxes.
Everyone wants to drive around at low cost on good roads free of other (excessive) traffic.
They want to use clean trains at low cost, when they like to where they like.
Nobody wants to pay.
You try to work it out.
You keep electing those without morals, with no conscience and no interest to rule our lives for their own power.
Solutions: Many possible.
Solutions: None going to happen: Too many conflicting parameters.

Thank you for that, but who do you think will achieve all this?

May be if we cant change the politicians, maybe we can change instead, and live by their rules, so if I should obtain some one else’s money by deception and get caught doing it, I just have to pay it back, with an apology of course and all is well. What do you think, could it work?
