Is anyone else afraid they may have forgotten how to bra?

More seriously, though, it's going to be pretty strange once the rules lift altogether and we are left to assess our own risks.

As a neuro-diverse person, I have never made as much eye contact with people as I have over the past year and I have been wondering if this will still be the case once I can see the whole face again or will I immediately revert to watching mouths and avoid the eyes at all costs?

I do wonder whether next winter will see people masking again - ours can't be the only household to have avoided any sort of illness throughout this time and that can only be down to masking and distancing so is that how we eradicate the coughs and colds of previous years? Are those simple viruses still around even - how long can they lay dormant if no-one is spreading them around?

What do you all think will be 'normal' this time next year that wasn't previously? - Or will we all just snap right back into our old lives?

Sorry, but you need to enlighten me - "how to bra"?

That's a completely new usage to me.

There are lots of potentially interesting angles to this thread.

Just playing with language - I have barely worn a bra since first lockdown (even leaving the house without sometimes! *shock*) and have gotten quite used to the freedom. The thought of all the extra faff of choosing and putting on a bra every day is one thing I'm definitely not looking forward to!

I now totally understand your observation, from some time back, about starting a thread and it  just going flat. There are so many diverse opinions about the various measures during Covid, that I thought this one would absolutely fly!

In future, in crowded public spaces, I will definitely be wearing a mask. A few weeks back, I heard some bod from SAGE on the wireless, saying that we should all be aware of respiratory hygiene from here. A nod's as good as a wink...!

By the way, are you back in harness now? ;)

Only when I have to be!

My hope is that plastic screens stay on the tills - I have daughters who work retail and they have always brought coughs and colds home from work so I'd like to think they are not at risk of catching anything from customers in future!

It would be good if my favourite restaurants continue to sell their food by takeaway too - there's something quite pleasing about eating fancy food whilst slobbing about the house in a tshirt and trackies.

and no bra of course

 Absolutely! icon_lol

I think those level of precautions should stay. I honestly believe it could still be a couple of years before we are completely on top of this virus.

Have to disagree with you on one point - particularly when the kids were young, my ex and I would have a fancy food and wine night, at home, every month. We would also get all dressed up, and make a full-blown occasion of it - you don't get the opportunities as much with little 'uns. I believe all the trimmings really added to the enjoyment.

I don't have anyone to dress up nice for so I enjoy the slumming!

Couldn't agree more about getting on top of things. I was surprised how many drunken types were staggering around the streets last night when I took my night walk - those people will slow down full recovery.

Dress up nice for yourself!! Why not??

I now live in a flat in the town centre - nice to be in the thick of things. 4(?) weeks ago, when bars were allowed to serve outside again, it was like New Year's Eve 40 yards down the road from me. If only you could shed all frustrations so easily, eh???

Haha. I could just imagine that - sitting on my own in my posh frock!

Just finished dinner, to which, I must point out, I wore full evening dress - pyjama bottoms and my old terry gown. Fetching, IMHO!

if it makes you feel happier it's worth doing. Just something different from the normal.

 Good point!

We are in uncharted territory, not since the great flu pandemic of 1918-20 has the world been focused on a single contagion like this. Sadly it is not the efforts that we make in this country but the standard of intervention around the world which will shape our destiny. Overcrowding, non compliance, poverty, lunatic leaders (Brazil) Sadly folk here will become complacent and relax their guard. Every year we will have aggressive variants. Basic standards of protection will have to stay such as screens at checkouts but even now distancing is slipping, hand sanitising becoming haphazard. Ocado and Amazon are the new corner shops, how the hell are you going to pick up anyone shopping now.....cruising the evening isles with a bottle of wine and an apple prominently displayed in your trolley, making eye contact in the vegetable section, all fading fast, lol!

What is interesting in my area is the number of food outlets that have spent time rethinking their food offerings and take away so I suspect that it will be so easy to eat well at home. I think you will be spoiled for choice Hothouse although we both live in quite rural environments. I have absolutely no interest in going into a crowded pub, or any other crowded place for that matter. Eating and drinking at home, garden bars, having a few friends over, having one special friend over😉, dressing up, dressing down, having a naked meal, (serious fun let me tell you, lol!), be careful with that molten Brie!

Or wine, cake and condoms even! ;)

Definitely - we only had Just Eat delivering here before all this, now we also have Zoom, Uber Eats and Foodhub. My evening walk takes me past MacDonalds and it's quite funny to look through the windows and see only the drivers sitting inside with their different coloured delivery bags!

Naked meals are nothing new to me - clothes are generally a hindrance, although soups and sauces do sometimes warrant some sort of covering! (mind you, I managed to scald a nipple through my tshirt the other day, so clothes obviously don't provide much protection!) We have a great naturist venue nearby that I like to visit when I can - I've missed that place!

I try not to think too much about what's happening in the rest of the world - it makes me feel really helpless when I see countries being so loose and careless with the whole situation. However people may feel about the rules we've had to live by, you can't dispute that lives have been saved by it - we'd never really know how many, but even if it was only 10 people that's enough in my mind!
