Well I guess I know what a QR code is now! :giggle:
I see them around but it's pretty obvious to me that they're probably just going to direct me to their website so I don't bother. Maybe you should use reverse psychology and just put the QR code on your signs with the rider:
"WARNING: DO NOT SCAN THIS CODE!"
;)
I have come across QR codes (bearing in mind they are designed to be read by a small mobile device) that direct to a full-sized web-site that is not set up for the specifics of the smaller device.
I don't scan them - if I'm interested I would Google the company name.
I have heard of QR codes used on memorials and other historical objects/buildings/places to direct people to extra information. That makes sense to me.
Did get quite interested in them a few years ago and designed one with my company logo embedded into the centre. The main drawback is that you have to launch an app on your phone- would be much better if they just autorecognised the code and linked though without any need to tap anything.
Quite interested in the idea of a QR/AR hybrid where scanning the code will link to an augmented reality demo of a product or service
