I still don't know what a QR code is. Mind you that's not a surprise as I still don't own a mobile phone. Tried on for about 2 months years ago had and made no calls or texts but then I didn't know how to turn it on or off either so more than likely just missed them.

I am now the proud possessor of a free QR code which will direct people to my business facebook page. I'm getting it printed on my next lot of advertising to see if it increases traffic .
Does anybody actually use their phone to read these codes ?

Occasionally yes... but if I have the advertising literature in my hand more often than not I will wait until I get home to have a look on t'internet on my laptop
I see them around but it's pretty obvious to me that they're probably just going to direct me to their website so I don't bother. Maybe you should use reverse psychology and just put the QR code on your signs with the rider:
"WARNING: DO NOT SCAN THIS CODE!"
;)
I have come across QR codes (bearing in mind they are designed to be read by a small mobile device) that direct to a full-sized web-site that is not set up for the specifics of the smaller device.
I don't scan them - if I'm interested I would Google the company name.
I have heard of QR codes used on memorials and other historical objects/buildings/places to direct people to extra information. That makes sense to me.

That's probably not a bad idea !! lol How many drunk students would be able to resist ? And it may liven up the page a bit if they start posting
Have it go to a website that just says "Publishing all images to all numbers". With a short countdown. biggrin

never, got over that novelty within 2-3 weeks of them appearing the other year
The first one I saw was on a cookery program, and I had no idea what it was for. Obviously I had to pause the TV while I found the scanning app on my phone, but I was super impressed when it took me to the recipe and instructions for the food the guy on telly was cooking!
Now that's clever!! smile
Well I still can't think of anything I'd use it for. innocent

<<this is my favourite ever QR Code use though
Did get quite interested in them a few years ago and designed one with my company logo embedded into the centre. The main drawback is that you have to launch an app on your phone- would be much better if they just autorecognised the code and linked though without any need to tap anything.
Quite interested in the idea of a QR/AR hybrid where scanning the code will link to an augmented reality demo of a product or service
