To answer a question with a question.....
How did he lose his hand ?

From Wikipedia:
"Abu Hamza lost both his hands and the use of his left eye, allegedly as a result of wounds sustained in Afghanistan during a de-mining project around 1993"

And the problem with Wiki is its only as good as those that input the information they believe to be true..
Other reports claim a bomb he was making went off and took his hands....
Either way the man is an animal who preaches/preached hatred on the streets....
I'm not defending the BNP in any way ,shape or form but I fail to see the problem with giving them air time to say what they have to say then the public can judge for themselves....
All we can hope is that it is a level playing field and they are given a fair crack as would any other party...
Whilst we here, let us also remember the BNP's views on homosexuality. They state that no openly gay person should be allowed in armed forces or police or high postions of responsability in government. They obviousily think being gay is an illness.....as they state they would fund councelling for gays so they can turned back into fullfilled individuals...please note the above is their words and not mine.

You make him sound like Darth Vader! He's not - he's an intelligent, erudite politician who has every legal right to have his voice heard. Hopefully, the mindless morons who label him a "racist thug" will actually listen to him, rather than continue to bleat about what little they know about him and his party's policies.
Go Nicky, you're so fine you blow my mind, Hey Nicky!
Today is a great day for democracy and freedom of speech.

I cant let this go unchallenged. Im not a mindless moron and I am happy to label anybody who supports the BNP a racist thug. I will quote the BNP manifesto
"... we call for ...... and the introduction of a system of voluntary resettlement whereby those immigrants who are legally here will be afforded the opportunity to return to their lands of ethnic origin assisted by a generous financial incentives both for individuals and for the countries in question."
They decline to say whether I will be quartered and sent back to my 4 ethnic countries of origin. In any event that is a statement that could only be made or supported by a mindless racist thug.
I still believe in free speech tho.
I dont think immigration will cause riots, intolerence will carry far more weight.
If I support the BNP - am I then a thug? How do you qualify that, or is the whole phrase just something you've copied from somewhere for dramatic effect? I've also highlighted a word above that you seem to have glossed over - did you miss that important part?
As for you being comprised of 4 ethnic origins - lucky you, you'll have the choice of 5 countries to live in.
Woo hoo for you!!!
Sarah, I would call any supporter of a party which doesn't know the difference between "premier" and a "premiere" simple minded.
but.....as I stated in my orginal post ...no matter how much I dispise this person and his views........ I believe he should be allowed on the program. He will no doubt duck and dive difficult questions as all politicians of all parties do. The only way we can overcome the bigoted views of such people is through eductaion.
Thats why I do find disturbing is that people on here seem to think, that the BNP is NOT racist !!!!!!!

Voluntary.... yey, so can I ask what happens if I decide not to go to "my ethnic origin" would I be treated as a 3rd class citizen????
so does this mean you'll send me back to the states with a wad full of cash?? get in there!!!!

the above line was full of sarcasm....
My grandfather fought for this country and stayed here...
my mum has spent all of her working life here as a nurse, and in important parts of medicine
my dad spent a lot of time here as a doctor and a surgeon,
my sister is a teacher....
and yet, rather then using all of that skill and knowledge you'd rather turn away people with skills solely based on the colour of ones skin.... wow.... just wow.....
I so said to myself, don't get involved in this discussion.... but I just couldn't help it.....
so... what's on tele tonight then?

Forget the skin colour- you're a yank...you're fucked anyway.
bolt
i'm looking forward to it
my feeling is give him enough rope and he will surely hang himself
too many idiots support the bnp without having a clue about wat they REALLY stand for so i'm hoping it will open some blind eyes
The BNP thrives on the politics of fear and ignorance which they seek to exploit.
I genuinely don't believe a lot of people who vote BNP are thugs. However, they are ignorant of other cultures. They don't understand why someone wears a burkha when walking down the street. They read the stories in the papers about asylum seekers and believe everyone with a black or asian face is here illegally. When combined with the potent rhetoric from the BNP about invasions and our way of life being under threat, it can be pretty powerful stuff.
So, the BNP wants voluntary repatriation. But many of the most skilled people in this country are from black and minority ethnic communities, and contribute many millions of pounds in taxes. Many of them work in the NHS. How ridiculous to suggest we send them away and lose their talents.
This country has been invaded for centuries - if each and every one of us went back through our own family tree we would discover we had foreign ancestory.
It has always puzzled me that people complain about immigration, but don't object when friends or relatives emigrate. Good for them they say, before swiftly adding something about this country going down the pan. So it's ok for us to go elsewhere, but not for others to come here. What hypocrisy.
We need immigration. Some people don't want to hear it but it's true. The prediction that we will have a population of 71 million is correct. A significant factor in that figure that we are all living longer. And that is precisely why we need immigration - we need people to work and pay taxes because in the future we simply won't have enough due to the declining birth rate.
Ultimately, we are all human beings - it is only skin colour and cultures that are different.

ok we have disappearing comments now there was one from someone yet when i refreshed it had gone i'm confused
is it wrong i enjoyed watching the worm squirming and shaking
Griffin looked very uncomfortable throughout the programme and it was good to see that the other panelists had done their homework in dredging up all his past quotes.......good to see him squirm as he was exposed as being totally one dimensional.
His performance can surely only have a negative effect on his party.....so definitley the right choice to have him on the programme!
well he made one or two reasonable points in a whole sea of crap....pretty much like most other polititions i've encountered

Dick Griffin...

humour and truth lol
TBH, I stopped watching question time a long time ago, after I started throwing things at the telly!!
I did watch tonight though and thought it was just a bash at the BNP. The whole programme was about the BNP, nick griffin did not get a chance to have his say on any other issues other than race.
I thought nick griffin came across very poorly.
have to say..very surprised......Mr Griffin would have known the issues that would be thrown at him..and yet he seemed to have no real answers. His advisers certainly had not breifed him very well. Showed himself to be a bigot..a racist..and most of all...by his own admission..a liar !!!
lets hope anyone with a braincell...will see BNP for what they are now.
I watched the " circus " and the audience was obviously very well hand picked.
Griffin looked very nervous up there, and his comment about the KKK being not violent seemed an odd thing to say.
He obviously was backtracking on many issues and like most politicians skirted around the questions many times.
I do not think he did himself any favours at all by appearing on Question time, and for me the programme did not show me anything I did not already know.
Jack Straw came across as a bit of a muppet ( no suprise there then ), and his inability at first not to answer the most fundamental question, was typical of this Government.
The question was an easy one " are the Labour party and it's policies on immigration, the reason for the BNP's success ". He skirted around that until the host made him answer.
Most people in this country have no problem with " controlled " immigration, it is the open door policy that people are worried about. Like the figures the Government spoke about when the Eastern European countries joined the EEC. Those figures of coming to the UK are laughable, it was in fact close to and that is the legal ones. How many illegal immigrants are here that haver sneaked in?
There was a black guy in the audience and the Muslim lady who both said it had to be controlled, yet I did not hear them being branded racist for saying so.
People realise that immigration is good for the UK, just not the ammount we have taken in. You cannot possibly sustain another ten million people coming in. The country is skint, it is struggling to cope now with vital services at breaking point. It was said last night on the programme, quite openly.
That is what I have said for ages, that it is not just white people who have said this, many people from an ethnic background are saying it as well.
The Tories have said they will limit the numbers and a points system will be introduced if they come into power. It should.
Because the biggest problem we face with the BNP is the immigration one. If that is taken away from them, they will resort back to the tiny little party they were three years ago. But with immigration being a huge issue amongst a lot of British people, to ignore the numbers coming in, will only make the BNP stronger and bigger, and forget about nobody out there admitting they are members of the BNP through fear, they will just put their x's on the ballot paper next year, and it could happen that Griffin could be turning up as an MP. Do people really want that to happen?
If not then immigration has to be controlled, for the long term benefit of all of us. And that is NOT racist to say, for even last night that is what was said.
Griffin is a muppet but....a very dangerous muppet. Ignore the reasons for his rise, at all our perils. The very future of the UK is at stake here, and sadly people do not realise how serious a thing that could be.
One point which I spotted was huge and a main reason for the popularity of BNP supporters or disaffected viewers/voters was the argument between Straw and the Tory asian lady(sorry I cant remember her name) that:
The labour immigration policy is working....cue
Straw: yes it is
Tory Asian lady: no it isnt
Straw: yes it is.
Ferkin pathetic and a window into why voters decide bugger it I'm going for something totally different!
What i found interesting is that I didn't give a monkeys about the other pabalists on QT but I did about Nick Griffin and at least that shows that it mattered more to me how Griffin came across than whoever the other three were, they were MP's right? Oh and a lady from a museum or something it doesn't really matter.
I am satisfied and relieved that Griffin came across as the bad dangerous (not so much now hopefully) man that he is.
Give him to Paxman now lets finish him and his hate peddling filth off.

I think they should have done that in the first place Losty.
The host of question time had an opportunity to really make him squirm, but failed to take it....Paxman would have.
But as the host stated...the show was not all about the BNP, maybe it should have been.
I think with all that should/could have been talked about, it was wasted as some questions went on too long, so they ran out of time.
I bet he is regretting going on there now though. I still cannot believe he made that comment about the KKK though......suicide comment.
