smackbottom You know that wasn't what I was talking about....

Really? Had no idea.....
Virtual spankage to your taste though? :smackbottom:
It'll do for starters ;)
I have a secret pleasure and i hate myself for it.
On a sleepless night, of which I have many, I make myself a sarnie of something really lush, or whatever throws itself out of the fridge at me, a cup of the steaming immaculate brew that is coffee and sit down in front of the box and watch Holby City on catch up. I hasten to add that I can only do this if its gone midnight but before dawn.

Hmmm, is there a reason for this? I mean if you watch it before midnight, does it count as 'proper' watching rather than 'sneaky' watching? wink And is Holby City so bad? (I don't watch it myself dunno)
Our secret pleasure is sitting out in the garden after dark...naked x x

Oh yes Nola. Holby City is pretty bloody atrociou. Holby and only after midnight when i am alone with everybody else snoring gently to themselves and feeling sorry for myself can I stomach Holby. Any other time i seriously couldn't sit and watch it without throwing something at the TV or maybe a child of mine.

 Will the virtual world end?!
Losty posted in two colours!
:giggle:
Something weird just happened. blink I posted after Lost.
In edit: twice!

Puttin me reading glasses on......... They actually proper work!!!:eeek:
I feel ever so grown up in restaurants :smug: now I can join in with everyone else by rummaging round in my bag for 10 mins, dragging out everything from spare tampons to half packs of Halls menthol - v. spicy btw, them extra menthols make you sneeze  (what do you call mega mentally anyway? Spicy, hot, cold? dunno ). Muttering the almost tribal chant of "I know they're here somewhere"
Finally locate glasses, and it's like magic - the menu just appears before your eyes. You can even see the small print - so no more wondering how the ell the cost always seems to be about 10% more than you thought it was, and putting it down to not reading the prices properly! blink
Only problem is looking up to order the food, whoooosh, everything's all fuzzy and swimmy, like being pissed but without alcohol, makes you go cross eyed and everything
... So that's my secret pleasure, the magic of reading glasses ..... testing them out when I think no ones looking, playing the "how small can you go" game. cool
Strange thing is, I've worn contacts for years for short sightedness - but reading glasses are just something else :-D
Missy ... succinct as ever lol
I should get glasses, my eyes are shot. But I won't get them as they cost money. I'm thinking that I will continue to manage just fine, I'm not really bothered about not being able to read small print. As long as I can see the dinosaur coming over the hill that might be wanting to eat me, it'll be reet
my secret pleasure is a secret wink

There's something in what you say blue.
And we're all guilty of this.
Culturally, we are persuaded to wear glasses at the first moment our eyesight begins (naturally) to fail but this only exacerbates the problem.
I know of people in their 60's and 70's who resist using glasses with a passion in order to keep the lens of the eye soft and flexible and in focus as it were to prevent the lens becoming rigid with age which is why glasses usually become necessary.

Yes, I know. That's why I said it.
I'm not guilty of it though. As I said, I won't buy glasses.
They gave me glasses when I was a child because I had a weak left eye. I figured that it would never get stronger if I gave in to it, so I never wore the glasses. I was right, for many years my eyes have served me perfectly fine. It is only as I am now older that they have started to become more troubling. But my vision changes a lot, so I would need about 10 different pairs. It just wouldn't work, so I'm happy to stay glasses-less.
Soup making.
That's quite a guilty pleasure... it sounds daft but I find it quite therapeutic!

I'm a baker... it's not a guilty pleasure though... that's the eating part!! :giggle:
Stationery.
I actually might be a little bit addicted.
This will come as a shock to a lot of people - myself included to be honest!
Cleaning windows
But I have to use my magical purple cloths. I even catch myself (on a scarily regular basis) thinking how nice x, y or z would come up if I had my magic cloths with me redface
Wow, don't we all know how to live, us swinger types? lol
I don't think I have any secret pleasures, not sure why I'd keep pleasures a secret really.

thought id seen you loitering with intent outside whsmith.
yes, no wonder the staff were edgy lol
I have another redface
There's an American guy on You Tube called Eddini, who does relaxation videos. I found him totally by chance, but I am quite addicted to his voice now. I find it quite hard to sleep if I don't listen to him at night. I even wake up in the night and put him on surprisedops::oops::oops:

Funnily enough I use a fountain pen every day - only yesterday when I was with and auditor she commented " you dont see many of those these days" after I had looked round and had done a double take it dawned on me what she was referring to!
Sadly a dying art, writing - we should all do more of it, maybe the forum wouldnt be the same though

Yes, it's very soothing and makes the scribbles and notes, I prepare from meetings, a lot more important. Well to me they are, though they still might be complete and utter tosh!

I have just bought my eldest a swiss fountain pen, cost a bit but it is so well balanced, and so beautiful (if pens can be). I bought myself the equivalent ballpoint, I keep it in the box and it only comes out to write cards to special people
Here you go...

:rose: And, you're welcome!
I write with crappy biros that I get from work.
Are there real benefits of writing with a "proper" pen?
Mind you, I write very little these days, it's all typing, unless I have to fill in a form I can't get online. My handwriting is extremely scruffy, would it have a hope of improving with a better pen?

Do you remember being in secondary school and practising joined-up writing in your handwriting book

There are 'handwriting pens' marketed which say they help your writing and, in many cases, they do. For me, if I am writing with an ink pen, especially a fountain pen, my writing is automatically better. Not sure why dunno Maybe I just take more care subconsciously than I do with a biro.
Watching River Cottage back to back smile a good dose of Hugh can make everything right with my world for a while......pure comfort viewing :inlove:
