You're probably using a late version of IE and a reasonably uptodate version of windows, older of the both and it's
not going to play happy.

What can you do to prepare?
It's important that we explain that with the new site that uses newer technologies and therefore some older browsers may no longer be compatible. It's therefore important that you ensure that you have the latest updates installed on your machine. Firefox and Chrome usually update automatically, but if you're using Internet Explorer and you have not updated your operating system for some time, doing this now might be a good idea which you can do here - Not only will you pick up several security patches, you should then also pick up the latest browser.
Our browser support for Internet Explorer will stop at version 9. Any users on old operating systems such as Windows 98 or Windows XP will not be able to update to version 9 or above, so at that stage we would recommend using Firefox or Chrome which are still supported.
Chrome -
Firefox -
Nice Update!
Working well across Safari on Mac, iPad and iPhone biggrin
Oops, my halo slipped... while ya down there luv!! ;)
Visually superior to other sites, so that's a good thing.
But the number of active people in the west country on this site is vastly inferior to elsewhere on the web, so we will wait to see what happens.
We are still unhapppy that a block doesn't yet mean a compete and total block.
The changes are welcome. Although, we really do feel it's been too litle too late and that will be followed by too much too soon.
Never happy eh!

Windoze Vista & IE9
The site keeps promoting me to update IE to a later version, but Microsoft says I'm using the latest version.
Having just posted the above (and also) this post using my android, there's no preview button a la IE...
It's post it and see what it looks like and edit if required.

We asked that question and the answer was this:
"By default for historical reasons, the site is using the 'BBCODE' editor which doesn't offer a preview at the moment. If you click the 'BBCODE' option, it should put you into what we call wysiwyg (what you see is what you get), so that's the preview"
It does seem to work that way.

Agreed: I have a Vista machine and I'm being told IE9 is the latest supported browser, but I suspect that's because they're no longer developing for Vista. You could download Chrome or Firefox I guess?

Is there a way to disable the Online Friends, Activity and Notifications Pop Up, lower right hand screen ?
Click on the 'online friends' box to open it, click on the little gear icon, and turn off chat. That will disable the whole lot.

Thank you Cubes, that works, but still leaves a "You Are Offline" box. Better than before, thanks again.

Have you tried using the mobile App ?
http://m.swingingheaven.co.uk. ?

I'm still having the same problems re chatroom using android; the mobile site won't open at all, just a white screen, and the regular site still won't auto size, so I only see part of the chatroom.
Most of my time is spent in chatrooms, and all of my meets have come about due to chatting to other members.
If the site continues to be so user unfriendly, then I cannot see myself renewing my subscription. Shame, cos I've had a really good time and have met some wonderful people here.
In your case it may be worth raising a ticket via the support panel? In the meantime I'll point the admin to here.

A support ticket would be best as we need to find out exactly which phone model your using, the version together with your phones browser type/version in order to try and reproduce the issue, when you submit the support ticket it will log most of that which will help us to investigate the problem.
As an interim you also try installing a different browser on your phone as it is possible that its related to the browser type.
