I've just woken up after snoozing away the effects of a night shift. Several times I was woken up by the wind howling past, but thought nothing of it.
Watching the BBC news at one with a coffee I was shocked to see just over 40% of the news was taken up with details of a storm bashing the North with one person killed and flooding expected later today, and expected to be along the lines of the 'Great flood' of 1953.
Firstly can I say that I hope you are all kept safe and that no one else loses their life. However, I love seeing the thunder and lightning, howling winds and driving rain, whilst sat indoors with the heating on, snuggled up and watching the neighbors' patio furniture being blown over their fence.
Am I the only one that likes a 'good storm'?
Love a good storm but not seen one here in Stoke today, the first I knew of it was an email from a site telling me that travel arrangements might be disrupted today and telling me what deals I could get on hotels around the country if caught short away from home dunno
Not seen the news today (well for weeks actually) might be tempted to check it out later :small-print:
Apparently the death toll has doubled sad
I hate storms; they freak me out. Yesterday, down South, the winds were howling and you could feel the pressure they put against the windows. It did not occur to me that it was another hurricane as I was busy trying to sort problems out. It is amazing though how good the weather is the day after a hurricane. Wish the same was true about life's problems...
