Steve, Rob's right. Get some endorphins and energy going, specially omportant after a period having to rest up so completely. Soon wears very thin, eh? Will make benefits of cutting your smoking all too readily apparent also. Quite a motivator finding out how shockingly out of shape you are take it from me mate.

Join a gym....I did actually look at doing this a little while ago....I'd want to do swimming and weight work (have a large upper body that would look great with some weight work).....£320 per year

Steve i don't know if this happens where you live, but where i live your GP can give you a "prescription" to a gym so you can go for free, worth asking if they do it

Steve, what a bout an evening class? Not for everyone I know. But at about £40 to £70 for 10 weeks you could learn a new language, Italian cooking or brush up your car maintenance skills - if you are on benefits it is probably free.
If you sign up for something, especially if you pay for it, you may feel more incentive to go along. And it is a limited time, 7 to 10 weeks, so you know it will end at a known point.
I did an Archaeology A level years ago - we laughed most of the way throught the 'lessons' and had a day trip to boot.

All good advice folks .....Thanks
I have a Doc's appointment on Monday so I may broach the subject with him Nellie...
I see what your saying Mart and the figures speak for themselves but to join the gym I need to pay the money up front which I can't afford to do....
If I had spare money lying around I'd get the heating repaired (approaching 3rd winter with no heating now due to the boiler being knackered)...

Would extra B12 help? It optimises the release of energy from food. Maybe worth asking the doc about possible alternatives or adjusting the dose/frequency?
It's a shame to be stuck with no energy when you are trying to be healthier.

Well done too Neil, I cut my drink down a few years ago but don't think it is something I would like to stop completely, I do enjoy the odd drink or 2 now and again.
