I just stick with the lappy, you can take it to bed and have it on the duvet between your knees

We dont want to take any of the laptops away with us as they are far to cumbersome and big to cart around and my own laptop is about knackered.
We fancied a tablet to make it easier to take away in the UK and especially when going abroad (we dont wish to have to lug a laptop about on and off water busses in Venice on the way to the hotel smile
We just need to know about chat rooms and fb chat as i use them :)
Laptops cumbersome! obviously you don't remember a time when this was the height of portability.

I dont remember but it would have been a time when i was more mobile and not in pain anyway and wouldnt be leaving all the carrying to poor hubby lol

Yeah, I couldn't find one either. ;)
I've got an ipad but never use it, much prefer a proper keypad
get a refurbished ipad or ipad mini. most will come with a 12 month warranty and ive had no problem.
saved £150 on the apple price and i just bought a cover for the back to get rid of the scratches.
only bought it for the simpsons tapped out game im addicted too.
but if your into gaming and want a laptop which ticks all the boxes then look at the msi gx gamer series. will set you back about £1000 but its a stunning laptop and i set mine up with a bluetooth tdk speaker system and can use the same speakers for my tv and ipod/pad.

Ohhh I say, that`s a big one :eeek:

Bet you say that to all the men smile
I have to say as a long term lappy fan I do now enjoy the ease of the Ipad. I find its easily trasportable and efficient in the right circumstances
god I sound like a 80's advert
We have just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, had money off vouchers at Tesco so got it for a good price smile
Didnt want an ipad or i anything as i have prefer not too :)
We have got a PC and lots of laptops but wanted something smaller to take away with us rather than a laptop as i am disabled and hubby has to struggle with our lugage and help me walk, so the tablet is perfect for us :)
We will use it to watch films when away and also for facebook and here :)
Thanks Sara :)

iPad's here for both of us.
Keyboard is absolutely no problem - in fact it's a big bonus. Living in France we can set the keyboard at a stroke to French so we can get all the accents correct and it even spell checks French words for us as we type. Brilliant!
I was tempted to get a Bluetooth full size keyboard but found it too slow to respond to keystrokes. Half of most words were missing altogether and any time saved was more than taken up reviewing what has been typed.

i agree with wireless and bluetooth keyboards that are too slow to i discovered that after the purchase lol
We love the samsung tab 2 smile
It works very well and does everything we want it too and more :)
I've just bought Mrs T an iPad for her birthday. not sure how she is getting on with it, but the kids seem to like playing games on it!
