Google, what a fantastic way to fill yourself full of knowledge/trivia and all such stuff.
Today is Sunday, gots to love em.
The Caravan & Motorhome show is something we'd been meaning to go to for some time but cos I can never tell from one day to the next what we'll be doing we have to pass on the likes of 'complimentary tickets' or 'web offers' if booking in advance., it's just not possible with how things are....meticulous planning is required for such jollies if it's to be in advance as is the norm at Toots Tits Towers it's kinda wake up to see what we're doing that day and then gone if applicable, we did West Mids Safari Park a month or so ago, up at 8am, by 9am the rest of the troops were up, by the manthang had blearily eyed suggested a trip to the place and by I'd packed a lunch, dressed the smallest additions and togged me self up and was sitting on the drive waiting to go...it's how it works here.
So, the Caravan show above is 5 days in duration, so no real planning required, just pencil in a rough day to go and if nothing crops up then off we trot.
Tomorrow Monday was to be that day, we couldn't do the 18th or 19th, today Sunday we could of but tomorrow the 21st would suit us better so we rained off going today and as such a late night all round last night was had...lovely.
Today, I packed us a lunch (can't be doing with Exhibition food, it's wayyyyy too expensive and tripe), picked up all the required stuff from Waitrose, baked a cake, sorted out the clothes for everyone, even cracked on with other stuff that a monday normally would do ...it was all going so well....
and then in just a few short seconds it all became history....thanks altogether to Google, thanks google.
Punch in to the search bar 'caravan and camping show nec' and the first link that comes up (for me anyway) check the dates, 18th - 23rd
and thats around about now and cos we've known about the show for like forever those dates are the only thing the manthang saw....18th 23rd ..18th 23rd ..you say it long enough and it becomes part of you...
I was with him all the way, yeah those are the dates and lets crack on...so today while doing my usual checklist (starts with have I remembered to wear knickers ( I'm usually commando but these caravan lot are a strange bunch) and then I move swiftly on to the more practical things such as 'has my iPhone got plenty of charge' have I remembered to let the cat out ( I don't have cat...but if I did I'd have remembered to let it out) and on it goes right down to 'time the show starts and finishes because in general I am always late for everything and I mean everything' so on to google I go to check out the finer details of show times and for whatever reason the 2nd link I read seems to prod my eye and it's this one
and right at the top of the page is the dates 15th - 20th Oct *rubs my eyes to check* 15th 20th October but but today is the 20th? Must be a misprint , yeah it's a misprint obviously........isn't it?
No it bloomin well isn't, 15th - 20th October 2013 is the show date, today is the last day and it's around 3pm and they close at 6... it's not happening.
So, thanks to a complete dope manthang and google throwing up the latter show first and manthang not reading things ...or rather only reading what he thought applicable which was 'dates' then tomorrow is definitely off, we're not going to the show cos tomorrow there is no show.
I would cry but I'd be seen as weak *smiling* but right now I haven't as yet told manthang my findings, I've told my under 4ft family members but not him and right now I have a mind not to but instead go down with a mysterious bug in the morning 'but you go dahling, I'll stay home poorly with the children but you go, make a day of it'

Thanks Google - Not a rant but an observation and a min-ra
We went to it yesterday - it was quite good actually, I do recommend it for next time it's on.
If you're just looking at what options there are in terms of motorhomes it's well worth it. We definitely came away with a much more formed and defined idea of what we might want to buy when the time is right for us to make that investment.
On the subject of you missing it cos of inaccuracies in information on the internet, Mr JWF once missed kick off at the footie cos the Daily Express reported the wrong time. He's never even touched that paper since and I think it was about 10 years ago....

Well the manthang does have history, he purchased a car in France whilst out there, parked it up and then forgot where he'd parked it and despite us searching for it for days we never found it, in the end we purchased a bit of a jaloppy just to get home.
I had to tell him today, couldn't let him trap to the NEC on his own and cos he laughed ..and laughed I had to sit and squash him just to shurrhimup.
In your case and the Daily Express, shame it wasn't the Dail Mail, that would of been worth a boycott.
