Frankly, this thread is going (has gone) nowhere.
Because he is blinded by prejudice, even if the Pope Beautified MT, he'd find a reason to diss her.
Maybe it's time to lock it?. I can't find a reason to offer any further contribution and most other contributors have wandered off in search of something more fulfilling.
Perversely, I guess dean will see that as some sort of victory but, who gives a shit dunno

Then maybe you should step back once in a while as your opinions on the lady are tainted, (via personal tragedy) to the point where you appear consumed by your loathing of/for her.

I've taken no active part in this topic as I think we're just going over oft covered ground and as such nothing new will come of it....
I have ,however, watched with interest and found myself nodding in agreement to some posts and I'm afraid to an outsider looking in, as it were, what Toots has said there seems pretty close to the mark....
You've got issues with MT Dean and they even touch you on a personal level and I can honestly say that it's very sad indeed to read that events have happened that cause you such anguish and sorrow but you do appear "driven" by those emotions....
I ,myself, have been driven by emotions when replying to topics back in the day and in the end the best solution has been to step away from the topic and let them subside....

Sage advice from a respected source
its very easy to have said...I can see you have strong convictions driven by personal situations. Its not exactly raw as the miners strike finished 30 years ago, this month !! I am not exactly on my own in my dislike of thatcher !!
Instead.. am spoken down to, told my views are tainted, and I would be better not to post on the subject. This ofcause follows laughs, smiles, snorts, and sniggers at comments.
People wonder why so few new people join the forum these days.....people wonder why people like Mids ( who in my view my a regular and good contributor ) are driven away. Guls the other day was told everything he wrote was rubbish and he shouldn't bother posting !! Yes..thats right though disagreeing with his opinions, I was one that said he had every right to post whatever he wanted, so long as within the rules of the site. People need to learn to have respect for others views, and can easily comment without being condescending.
If I wish to contribute to a thread and I have a view.....I will.

Margaret Thatcher - 13 October 1925 – 8 April 2013
Almost 2years since she died and there was a funeral.
Good lol or bad  , depends on your views of her.

As Prime Minister she was formidable adding much worth to the UK on the World stage, 15 years head of the Conservative party, 11 years as PM
From Argentina to the winter of discontent she was relentless, you just can't help but admire the lady.
She always said what she was going to do, and she bloody well stuck to her word - which is a damn sight more than other politicians do these days, popular or not, she was consistent as was Churchill - who also got slated for his stand on things ;)

Steve,
you indeed never did speak down to me...and I felt your contribution was thoughtful and considered. You indeed did not say my view was tainted .You have never laughed, snorted or sniggered at the comments. You treated the subject and me with respect. I thank you for that. I hope others can learn from your respectful way.....there again maybe me and you are old school now in the forums !!
Thatcher was a megalomaniac as was scargill neither one can blame the other for the downfall of the British coal industry, it was very much a joint venture between the two ego's
yes thatcher did break the unions and became the peoples champion to those not part of the unions, the UK people was fed up with strike after strike refuse, coal and blackouts had all plagued families in the 70's for too long, and people got irritated when held to ransom yet again by the unions
lets not forget she gave the people right to buy, then crippled families with 15% interest rates!! in fact she created the worst year of house repossessions since records began seconded by tony Blair in 2008
thatcher and the following governments made massive strides to pandering to the financial powerhouses while allowing our once great industries to sink into the abyss without another to take its place, however like the cotton mills of the early 1900's time needs to move on and industries change, what thatcher and successive leaders are really guilty of is not investing in our future with training and investment in future industries
Blair was probably the most self serving politician the country has ever seen with an estimated 75 million pound fortune, not bad for a self proclaimed socialist,
to argue and bicker about political leaders of the last 40 years can only be likened to which dog shit in the street smells the best
and like the dragon den says for that reason I'm out
food for thought:: great debaters on these forums never floundered from their point of view and often had the fact's at hand before they replied
staggers, neil in Leeds, kenty, and a few more would carry on from one subject to the next! to walk away from the forums because someone disagrees with you or questions your logic means your not ready for a debate
mids was good for forums but he was a dummy thrower rolleyes and quite often didn't research what he was debating so left himself wide open
i did not like thatcher.
but one thing i will say is that when she made the decision to send in the SAS to end the iranian embassy siege in 1980 it made the world stand up and take notice that the united kingdom had the elite force when it came to a hostage crisis on home soil.
it was the first time anyone had seen the SAS in action and it shook up the world so much no one has tried it again on this land.
all but one hostage rescued.
5 out of 6 terrorists killed.
the very best, it made this nation proud and put fear into our enemies.

You really do make it up as you go along, don't you Dean. Where was Gulson told that everything he posted was rubbish and that he shouldn't bother posting?

I too believe that guls is made of sterner stuff. His unique style of posting is not to everyone's taste but when he has a point to make he does so without fear or favour!
Yes Guls is more than capable ....but as can be seen he did believe that people personally attack him and his views....interesting to note that people had a go at BEN also calling them a pack....he has now left the site !!

Yaknow gulson now that the pack is behaving I am truly looking forward to your contributions.

it's a shame ben when peeps on here reduce discussion to personal attacks rather than expand on, or raise the level of analysis of a particular subject. if people would only wake up to whats going on, hidden in plain veiw all around them, they could take evasive action to minimise the risks they WILL be exposed to. regards and thank you.

You had to go a long way back to find that quote Dean, 26 August 2010 to be precise! And you accuse Toots of spending ages searching back!
As for Ben, he was very capable of having a go at others when he wanted to. Ben was very clever though, some of his more personal attacks were sent via private messages, hidden from the general forum readers.
Please stick to the original thread discussion and cease berating other active/inactive Site members. If not, the thread will have to be locked.
max...I went to the thread you directed me to earlier....else no would never of seen it...thanks !!
