FIFA. Need I say more?
Daily this farce looks more like the elections in Zimbabwe or Libya.
WTF is going on?
The current president is the last man standing in a hugely damaging corruption scandal. It needs some convincing to believe that Blatter is totally innocent of any corruption.
And who the fook in their right mind would select the sauna Qatar as a sensible venue for the World cup in July? Got to be corrupt, without a doubt and this debacle has just confirmed it.
If Cameroon is so against it, why doesn't he get Obamarama on side and take it to the UN Security Council? The sight of Apache gunships taking Blatter out in Zurich would be much welcomed by the footballing community, more so a good vote catcher in the primaries than going after Gaddifi
I hear Tony Blair is interested in the job innocent bolt

Well, he's got form, hasn't he.
No doubt he'd invite GB on to the board to do the accounts....
I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again ...... snipers .....what football needs is snipers

It would certainly liven it up - and keep the whimps from rolling around on the ground. biggrin I reckon it would make a great Xbox game.
blatter and his mates are all corrupt. it is about time the worlds top teems told fifa to fuck off and go it alone.
trouble is money corrupts, it always has done and football is no diffferent.
Not everyone in the World thinks this way and in fact the vast majority of Associations support FIFA generally and Sep Blatter in particular. The British (or rather English FA) were humiliated in their attempts to get a postponement with only 17 of 203 voters agreeing. It would seem that we either have a very tiny representative view or every single other association around the world is corrupt. Sounds kind of a familiar English state of mind that everyone else in the world is wrong apart from us.
The BBC says:
"The 75-year-old Swiss was the only candidate in Wednesday's election, with the English and Scottish Football Associations failing to delay the vote.
They wanted a postponement amid allegations of corruption within Fifa, but were only supported by 17 of the member associations.
Blatter won re-election with 186 votes from the 203 member associations and he will be in charge until 2015.
"I thank you for your trust and confidence from the bottom of my heart," said Blatter, who was applauded back into the auditorium by the rest of Fifa congress after his unchallenged victory in Zurich."
was very interested today....when heard a report on TalkSport radio station about why the English FA, command very little support. It's a little before my time....but it seems in the 60's England were in command of world football. It is a long held view that The English fiddled the 1966 world cup. The semi-final we were involved with had a german ref..and yes the other semi-final with Germany in had an English ref !!!
Also at the 1966 we blocked the African nations from competeing for a slot. We only allowed one team from African nation....and we supported the then Apartied South African Team. Now as I say, I can't really remember all this, but the reporter stated that we have to remember that FIFA is made up of generally older men, and they indeed have long memories.
Maybe we need to distance ourselves from our past, and try re-branding Team GB.

Staggers,
tut tut, this would take far too long to eradicate them. Think more 'out of the box' man wink
Using your 'sniper' principal, then a couple of these located in a sniper style vantage point may prove much more effective with their 6,000 per minute rate of fire

particularly this week when the FIFA Congress is running and there all in the same place, so range isn't an issue
lol

Sir Stanley Rous was FIFA President in 1966 but to say England ran football then is like saying Switzerland do now.
Also, the refs in charge of the semi finals were French and Italian. German and English refs officiated in the quarter finals and supposed fiddle was nothing more than sour grapes on behalf of Argentina and Uruguay who were both eliminated at that stage of the competition
indeed that was the name....Max....this was a south american jounalist they were talking with. And not for one minute do I believe a ref would influence a game. However they do beleive that England favoured Europe, and did run rough shod over the other nations at that time. It is interesting that no Souith American or African delegates didn't support our bid for the world cup, and didn't support our call for a delay in the vote yesterday. I do think maybe, we need to re-brand ourselves a little. We are currently seen by others as the moaners, who didn't win the world cup and now have an axe to grind !!
Maybe FIFA should get rid of the 'older men'. Forced retirement at 65 like most companies have and bring up younger leaders as a matter of course. Same with politics - if the world wants to keep moving it shouldn't be run by people who remember the war clearer than they remember whet they had for tea last night. Not ageist - practical. And just don't get me started on geriatric drivers.

Why re-brand Team GB / The FA etc.? What would that do to solve corruption in FIFA??? We should all be grateful to the FA for having the balls to stand up to FIFA.

The whole election was a farce! Look at the timing - the Blatter camp took out the competition just before the election, revealing corruption allegations against his main rival. Then in a stroke of theatrical genius Herr Blatter was put in front of the enquiry so he could be cleared of any wrongdoing. Do you really think he was going to be found guilty?
With the main rival out of the equation, who else could the FIFA faithful vote for?
football is so important. lets have lots more of it. lets make britain great again and respected while we bomb the capitol of libya to protect civilians and tell the stupid british that gaddafi supplies his troops with viagra to commit gang as a punishment to rebels so we will bomb the bastards more. (its not about oil)
oh and them rotten iraqi's as i recall were throwing babies out of incubators. bomb the bastards i say (its not about oil)
gaddafi was bombing and straffing his own people with aircraft so we gotta have "no fly" and bomb his land army, his compounds, his relatives, his water and sewerage works, his power stations, roads, bridges and canals, ports and general infrastructure of modern civilised life, to degrade his ability to kill our troops training, guiding and arming the rebels er sorry, civilians (its not about oil)
meanwhile, the libyans sit back and enjoy the heat watching football and their favourite team manchester united (or have they gone off them now since their humiliation by barca) while the world watches and listens to the crap justifications and propanda being put out by nato led by BRITAIN and AMERICA TO STEAL LIBYA'S OIL.
fifa in its wildest dreams could never be as corrupt murdering bastards as the lot we got here
Most Federations, Governemnts, Religious Organisatins and Corporations are corrupt. People always want power etc etc.
I love football, but am often turned off by it as it could be made so much better.
Restrospectivly banning players that dive, and immediate yellow cards to shouting at a ref. But the FIFA, FA, UEFA etc all are gutless to introduce such measures.
Just my two sense.
