It's a slow news/new thread day on SH so let's see if we can liven things up a bit.
What the fuck's going on with the the UK at the moment?
3 current news items stand out more than anything else at the moment and it worries the hell out of me.
I can't be bothered to post the links (for star's benefit because life is too short but everyone probably knows the stories anyway).
MP Denis MacShane resigned his seat
A referee is to be investigated about alleged racist comments to a player
Wife beater sentenced to life after stabbing wife though the heart
Let's take them in order.
MacShane is apparently not to be prosecuted for STEALING over £7500 from tax payers in false claims because of 'Parliamentry Privilege'. The DPP says his already admission in writing is not admissable as evidence in court (and he has paid the money back) so why not prosecute anyway and let him plead guilty???? No PP disrespected there and the MP concerned says he wants to be accountable for his actions!
He even falsified invoices passing them off as coming from someone else
You try doing that with your VAT or tax return and if caught out, see where it gets you - in jail for certain!
Metropolitan Police are to waste an enormous amont of money, yet again, investigating alleged 'racist' comments to a player at a football match. If the player concerned is unhappy with earning as much in one week in a freak show as most honest decent citizens earn in a year, tell him to get another fucking job, FFS.
Now,the last one. A woman complains to the Police that she is being beaten by her animal of a husband. Perhaps because the police are so far up their own arses deciding whether to prosecute a football referee or finding excuses not to prosecute an MP for fiddling the tax payer, this arsehole is thought by the CPS not to be worth prosecution following which he stabs his young wife through the heart with a kitchen knife 3 weeks later.
All this whilst investigating Sir Jimmy apparently molestng a (then) 18 year old groupie on the set of TOTP who is now on a compo mission.
Something is seriously wrong.
Who can fx it?

So because he earns a fantastic wage that makes him fair game and he should simply shrug off the "alleged" racist remarks dunno

I thinks it's more of a case that his 'primadonna' status gives some god given right to have the full force of the MP brought to bear, Steve.
If it was just an ordinary bloke in the street, most others would tell him to grow up but no, these idiots are grossly overpaid for what they do and never play with a 'straight bat', falling over claiming a foul when their opponent was nowhere near them.
Nancies, the lot of them. no sex discrimination intended, I'm sure they're all gay the way they prance about
The point of my post is that those who are vulnerable and deserving of protection, because they aren't 'A' listers, don't seem to get it when they need it most.
Sheesh GnV - that was quite a rant!! Perhaps you should pay me a visit and I'll take your mind off it all!
:giggle:
I'll get my cape bolt
I will be utterly amazed if Clattenberg did make any such racist remarks, Having watched the match, there was no reaction from the player whilst he was on the pitch to suggest that he had been racially abused. There was however, a shot of the ref holding a finger to his lips, obviously telling the player to be quiet. I really can't see how he can be found guilty if the 3 other officials all confirm that they did not hear any such remarks.
If the ref is subsequently cleared, I hope the FA and the Premier League throw the book at Chelsea and the player concerned because it appears to me they are willing to hang a ref out to dry simply because they were unhappy at losing an important match.
To my thinking, this is incident will have far greater repercussions that the Suarez and Terry incidents and it is vital that the footballing authorities get this one absolutely correct in order to stamp out any similar incidents in the future.

What he did should be illegal but it seems that if you are an MP, then you can get away with it. To be honest GnV I neither trust or respect a single MP. They all lie when it suits, they cheat when it suits, and the only time they give a fuck about any of us is when they are looking for our votes. This Mp should have been properly investigated and as the evidence is pretty overwhelming,he should have been arrested and charged and convicted in a court of law......just like any other normal person on the street would have. I certainly know I would have been.

It is of course a matter of conjecture whether this ref did or did not say anything to the Chelsea player. I for one think it is a complete load of bollocks. But these kinds of allegations are the same as the alleged Saville ones, where it will always generate an element of ' no smoke without fire '. No proof but people will make their own minds up. I think the FA should deal with this quickly and ask the officials if they heard any racist comments at all. If they all say no, then the ref would have a good case in the courts to sue Chelsea and their players. I am getting a bit tired of all this racist nonsense that seems to be dominating events of all descriptions now.
The police seem to jump on the band wagon now over any racist behaviour, I hear they will drop anything at anytime to investigate as it is the new terror act.

Domestic violence is an absolute nightmare for the police GnV. They hate getting involved in domestics. But this story I know very little of and in so many cases of violence towards the woman by her Husband, the police get involved and charge the Husband, and then the Wife detracts her statement. The police on so many occasions end up being the piggy in the middle of a domestic, and on rare occasions they get it wrong. Are they not human now? The police have a very difficult job to do at the best of times, made worse by constant domestics between Husband and Wife. Of course the ending is dreadful, but there are thousands of cases of domestic violence where all the police hours being spent, end up being completely wasted.

There are more than one person eying up his estate for a few bobs worth of compo. There are even more vulture compensations lawyers eagerly waiting in the wings too. Now we have Leonard Rossiter involved apparently. This story to be honest is beginning to get on my nerves. I believe about 2% of the stories and the rest are fabrication for monies sake, and the medias constant witch hunt that sells a few more papers.

Well certainly not Sir Jimmy as he is dead, and maybe we should tell the media that fact.
The country has gone mad with compensation cultures, race issues that are in many cases ludicrous nonsense. But GnV should we really be suprised over peoples morals and behaviors, when the very people elected in Parliament are corrupt and devoid of those very same morals?

Put that way way star, no - of course not.
A sad reflection of the way the world now is.
At least in some parts of the rest of the world (including Europe), you know the buggers are corrupt so expect nothing less.
