Spotted this about Arriva trains in Sweden.
Arriva banned the drivers from wearing shorts after taking over the running of the Roslagsbanan line north of the capital Stockholmline in January.
Many male train drivers have circumvented a ban on shorts by wearing skirts to work in hot weather.
Just wondering what your rules where and any other ways they've been circumvented ?
I have 2 jobs:-
Job 1. anything I want, usually jeans and tops!
Job 2. Issued uniform, black trousers, jacket, top, cream belt, and red scarf thingy, staff badge and they are very strict.............forget any of it and you get sent home to get it!
Today was naked Monday in my office...
I wouldn't wear a dress to work ...it would be very uncomfortable under the boiler suit
I wear a uniform based on a theme. It is entirely possible for myself and five colleagues to stand together and be instantly recognisable as members of the same organisation, however we will not all be dressed exactly the same. This allows for flexibility and individuality whilst retaining uniformity.
I can wear anything I like at work, within realms of decency of course :-)
One thing we are not allowed to wear are political slogans on our clothes. However, I did get away with one tee shirt that someone complained about....
"For fox sake ban hunting"
..... because my boss agreed with me and not them
lol
My dress code is a hooded cloak like a dementor
Seriously though it is shirt and trousers mon-thu...dress down on a Friday
Very, very specialised stuff, and even rolling the sleeves up can get you sacked !!
General 'business dress' but I do think it's a tad hypocritical as the women can get away with being much less formal than the men, who have to wear a shirt and tie. The whole what is/is not suitable debate often comes up, particularly during periods of warm weather.
I wear a lovely bright yellow hi-viz t-shirt with some fetching navy heavy cotton trousers and a lovely pair of Toetectors that make my feet look like boats, its a sight to behold :eeek:
Depends which of our two businesses I am working for and even what part of the businesses. Today is a mostly sitting down job so I'm barefoot wearing my normal uniform of jeans and T-shirt, but some days I have to get a bit more dressed up, get my legs out and wear "specialist" shoes
At the moment I have to wear smart/casual business wear. There are all sorts of rules because it is a food environment, but people rarely stick to them. No false nails/nail polish, no short skirts, tats covered up etc.
However, I start a new job in a few weeks, and I have no idea what the dress code is for that.
Suit, shirt and tie for me - oh and jeans on a Friday
It depends if i am in the office like today or on the tools out on site.
If in office its usually short sleved shit and trousers. out on site what ever i want usually depends on the weather.
I (Mrs T) works in education and has been at the same eductioinal establishment for the past 9 years. In this time the "dress code" has become quite strict.
When I first started, in the summer we were allowed to wear smart crop trousers and t shirts, obviously though we had to make sure that we did the "mirror test" in the morning. This meant putting your clothes on and leaning over and checking that there was no cleavage on show.
Now only smart clothes are allowed and not open shoes. All tattoos MUST be covered and makeup tame. Tops have to be smart and of office attire. I can see in the future that we will all be wearing suits!!!
I'm currently wearing my uber cool Converse to work... I'm wondering how long it'll be before someone tells me off!
