Just havin a discussion in chat n I like calling women burdz - I cant see the harm in it as it holds no bad connotations but do others find this sort of thing not good?
Quite frankly i find it.... none offensive and it's you so all cool smile
Love is another matter lol
Birds are okay in here - we have our own freckled one, and a long time ago we used to have Dark Sparrow. And in here, words like shag, tits and swallow are never far from our minds.
Is that what you meant? innocent
Just don't call 'em babe. The chicks don't like it.

It interests me that you use an alternative spelling 'burd' or 'burdz' which kinda clearly indicates, to me, that you are using it in a comic/affectionate sense. In that respect, I don't find it offensive at all.
If someone referred to me as a bird or (lord forbid!) their bird, I wouldn't find it offensive but I wouldn't be overly impressed.

men call us women birds/burds etc because of all the worms we pick up
and i find it mildly irritating
I dislike almost all 'names' men habitually call women. They all describe women as weaker, smaller, dependent, younger. When I get called chick, bird, girl etc I feel the man is trying to express his dominance over me, my insignificance compared to him. It's 100 times worse when a stranger does it.
And you know the worst thing? It's endemic in society to the point that even women think it's normal and, god forbid, cute.
If a guy is talking about a female he has met in the chat room - what the hell is wrong with calling her a woman?
Even 'girl' implies prepubescent child. On here? That is hardly appropriate. I stopped being a girl at the same age that the men on here stopped being boys.
(And don't get me started on 'THE wife')
