Have you been to New Orleans before?
And are you staying in the Quarter or Uptown/Midtown?
Just trying to figure out some good parade watching spots for you.
It's a great experience, but not New Orleans at its finest. You'll have a blast though.

I have been to NO on a dowzen or so times on business - and know quite a few great restaurants etc.
I also took Mrs V there for her birthday the year after the hurricane for MG - and it was mad - but I agree that you are only seeing one side of New Orleans at MG - but a pretty good side.
By Wednesday night it gets a bit run down and the atmosphere is not as special.
