Sounds like a great holiday!
Sounds fab. Send us a post card!
Actually I think Naughty Wigan Couple have done that a few times - just headed over & wandered wherever they fancied. Sounds awesome.
Never done it but it sounds cool! I'm doing the drive in April so come back and give us any tips if you find cool places along the way!
there used to be a bikers chat room, not sure if there still is, they may be able to help you if they are still there, but happy and safe biking and welcome to the forums xx

time will tell
we welcome any advice , tips or recomendations
We drove through Normandy and Brittany a couple of years ago. We didn't camp, Formula 1 are cheap enough. The roads are empty and the wine is good. Some spectacular coastline in Brittany and the Carnac stones are worth a visit. The Normandy beaches make you stop and think too.
I've never been to France... Well, I went to eurodisney once, but that doesn't count I'm sure...
Have a lovely time though, sounds like a great way to holiday!
got the map thats just for the way back , we will be on the road to no where going down lol
we are just getting off the train in calais and doing the coast road as much as we can down to brittany and just getting lost on the way stopping off where ever we feel like
deffo going to av a good look around normandy
other than that its just an hour by hour day by day nothing planned chilling out doing whatever comes next holiday
Scania,
Wife and me did the same thing. If the weather is good you will not need to leave Normandy. If you are interested in the 2nd WW have a look at the Caen war museum and even visit the Bayeux tapestry. Lots of good campsites and food in Normandy is so good. There are some large beaches where you can quietly get your kit off and even have a sly shag and people do not even notice.
In 3 weeks time we are going to be over there but in the Alsace area for the first time - cannot wait!
Have a good time
Regards
Roger
thanks roger
we will be stopping in normandy for a couple of days to visit places and take it in
we want to do as much coastroad as we can down to brittany
hope you have a great time in alsace
we will be trying our best to enjoy it , just hoping the weather is good while we are there
Hi Scania113,
If you haven't done so already, if you, click on the 'Search' button at the top right hand corner of the page and then, once you get on to the search page scroll down to the bottom left hand corner and in the 'Search for the words' box type 'France' and then click the green 'Search' button in the bottom right hand corner, you'll see the details
of SH members who live in France and you'll find there are a few peole living in the Normandy / Brittany areas who might just be pleased to see you guys lol.
But one thing you should consider is that the weather in Normandy and Brittany can sometimes be a bit on the damp side and if this is the case and you fancy it a bit warmer and drier you might want to think about going a few miles further south as the weather in the Pays de la Loire can often be completely different to what it's like further north.
Have a good holiday guys,
Regards,
Tony and Sandra.
6 days to go then its rev the bikes up and off we go
just hope the weathers ok
