hi Marvee.....think you talking about big trouble in Thailand....which is over on Bravo. Answer is simple.....if you want to do drugs..YES.. be aware you can face death penalty or heavy sentance in a rotten prison. If you just want a drink, food and a good time...then Thailand can be paradise.

My son and daughter went to Thailand,
they stayed in Aisawan resort and spa in Pattaya,

They said the ppl are great and they were treated

tell your friend I have been 7 times to Pattaya, I have many friends who live there, and will be going back next March. I have never had any problems, and have seen more trouble in England,

over in thailand myself again..18th time...yes i like the place....from 10th to 27th nov....not sure where going yet..thou last week probably down in Ko Samui....as do love it down there.

I have been to Thailand more than 80 times and have never had a problem ( except when I drove my car up a bus lane in Bangkok and got spotted by a policeman , just gave him a 100 bht tip, about )
I am here now and just adore the food and the pleasant surroundings etc
You hear horror stories about everywhere you go nowadays, just tell him to enjoy

I travel out there every year (I use to go on my own) and never had any problems, keep to well lit areas, where there are plenty of people about, travel on BHt bus or motorbike or registared taxi / coach, open bottle / cans yourself, do not accept any thing to carry at the airport........you won't go much wrong.
DON'T go wandering up dark alleys late at night, flashing a wallet load of money around, waving around the latest mobile phone,riding motorbikes with out a helmet, drinking too much in the hot sunshine, (you are likely to fall asleep on the beach, and wake up VERY burnt), accepting strange drinks or food off people who walk up to you in the street, letting people at the airport who are not in offical uniforms carry your bags.
Do use some common sense
And most of all have fun.

I'm here in Pattaya.
Arrived 2 weeks ago, for my usual 6 months winter stay/holiday.
Regarding safety, I have never had a problem.
Been coming for 5/6 years, for 3/4 months at a time.
If you are stupid, or come looking for trouble, that's up to you.
Weather,OK
Night-life, Straight (I am) or Gay, something for everyone.
Food and People are great.
I'm in central Pattaya (Soi Buakhao/Soi Diana Inn).
I have a small car that gets me about
