Hi,
I have been to the Cap D'age in the South of France twice and loved it. Both times went there touring through France on my motorbike from Dunquerque, and got a camping space (for a tent) at the Cap no problem in July without booking ahead.
Would like to try spain (I have never been there before) so wondered about Playa Vera, which I have heard is the second biggest naturist village in Europe.
If anyone has been there then some information on where to go camping once there would be appreciated. There is very little info about the campsite on-line.
Given that the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao is rather expensive, and sems to take forever, I would aim to ride my bike down from Dunquerque - to Vera - via some Champagne regions in France. But that is some 1,300 miles.
Has anyone done that journey, and if so, any good stops on the way?
Mark
Vera Playa is a great naturist beach, but it isn't the place to go if you're looking for the sort of action you might have seen at Cap d'Agde. There's now no campsite at Vera Playa - the nearest naturist campsite is at Puerto Lumbreras. The definitive source of info on Vera Playa
Thanks for that Tiger. Curiosly that website does say there is a campsite at Vera (Camping Almonzara) - perhaps it's out of date?
Yes, it is partially out of date. However, if you look at the FAQ section ( ) you'll see that they've updated the info re campsites there.
Yes, I have read that. But I have also read elsewhere that the original campsite was closed because of that new hotel (textile) developement, but they were building (I would have said erecting but that would be an overstatement for a campsite) another campsite behind the new textile hotel, with direct access to the beach. But what do I know? never been there so not this year then!
Never mind, perhaps if it is that hard to find out the relevant information in these days and it is not even on their own website then I best go back to the Cap then.
Their loss in Spain is my gain.
By the way, not looking for intimate fun in the dunes, just ogling the ladies as they walk by the bar on Aisle F at camping cap.
Anyone thinking of going to the Cap late May bank holiday or June time?

You'll usually find a few folks from this site in Cap last couple of weeks in June, us included.
