As I know that people did receive replies over the weekend, anyone who hasn't by now........... isn't going to get one (I think). And as it looks like we are all single males, & Helen's partner said something on the phone about not wanting too many single males (which is odd for a social!) I think we've had it.
It would be interesting to know on what basis they have chosen who to invite.

actually... this is the 3 seperate person i have heard this from and if it is true then it isn't really in the spirit of what was orginally started with..... sounds like the meet is being hi-jacked for some other purpose....
i am on lates this week so there is no way i can now go, but if this is what has been going on then i would not have gone anyway..... :( :( :(

Thought I should just say............ I'm not looking to whinge, be a pain in the rear, & I'm fully appreciative of all the work that is involved in setting up an event such as this. Plus it can't be nice when things don't necessarily go as planned, & people then start getting upset.

Yes, forgot to mention about some people needing to book accomodation.
that may be so but i'm sure 24hrs notice is enough time to book a room somewhere and plan your journey and i suspect you won't find it hard getting accommodation midweek i will even ring a few places around the stockton area to check availability i understand you will want accom nr the venue but like you i don't know where this is and i myself haven't heard anything i'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for all of this. if nothing is heard before 6pm tomorrow then i think we should start worrying. dj
Ive mentioned ages ago I may not be able to attend but things have changed and I can if I can get the directions after being to the munch in Newcastle and Marcusos birthday party it would be nice to meet pals again, I can get the train down, as for hotels the premier and travel lodge were both booked fully since Sat for wed night, they are the most easy going hotels I know, any way is there an invite for a couple although the fem is arriving about 5 hrs before the fella who is comming after work.

I can't believe what this has turned into! It's like half a dozen other bluddy threads on the Cafe. Chinese feckin whispers and half of you are ready to down us for trying to do something bluddy nice for ya!!!!
I haven't been online for a few days, 'cos surpisingly enough I do have a life beyond SH and even more remarkably it's a tad more important than this. HOWEVER, i am truly sorry tha so many of you have been left wondering what's going on and YES you are right to expect a reply and the details WELL before today! It's definitely an unreasonable amount of time to expect to wait and I am sorry for that.
I've only just found out about Helen and Andy's technical probs so i am currently goinmg through the list and PM-ing you all like mad!

BTW, there are no restrictions regarding single males. This IS a social meet. There are only one or two people who have been turned down, and yes they are male but it because we don't know them or anyone else who knows them. I think that's fair enough.
