At least it's some attention, also it's an oppurtunity to get involved with the banter and show you've got a sense of humour.
As a single guy this place is full of hard knocks because of the percentage game, if you can't take a bit of ribbing your not going to get far!!
Well, I suppose that would depend upon whether people were being spiteful or not, whether they left me room to join in with the banter, and whether I`d said something daft like `are there any real people here`. Thus suggesting that I viewed most of the membership unreal.
I`d probably try to brush it off, join in, and worry about it if the contributors seemed to continue to laughatme, instead ofwith me. If, after replying in good nature, people continued to laugh at me, I`d consider it a problem.

Thats the point though it doesn't, if you get involved with the banter take it on the chin and dish it out you are in effect striking up a conversation andit allows you to get to know someone / others and take things further.
It's the hissy fits that stops a lot of blokes getting more involved in this site!
Banter and piss take is what this site revolves around, if you can join in with that you're half way there!!

Hmm, interesting point. I`m sure some would argue that if his thread was badly worded he`d lessoned his chances from the outset, and encouraging him to join in with banter would increase his chances of becoming known, and thus increase his chances of a meet. However, humiliation and blatant personal insults are never pro-active. I have seen threads which have attracted serious replies as well as piss-takes, but equally, I have seen threads where the pisstaking has dissolved into spite. Personally I find it difficult to tell where such threads are likely to end up until the thread starter begins to participate further, and I get to see how their interaction is received. I do hate to see spiteful bandwagons form.

He's already had a banter back at some of the comments posted. He's a big boy and he can take it. If he can't, he didn't ought to post daft comments. He shouldn't need you to stiuck up for him.

Hopefully we are all real, I just think that as has been said it's in the words, is there a personality to help this 9" thing do it's work, or are we to assume that all women are interested in is what we men have lurking in our boxers, I wish that were the case, as I'd be in heaven, but as we all know the ladies on here are very sophisticated, intelligent and looking for fun and laughter as much as anything else.
By the way, I do have a great sense of humour, and yes I can take the knocks.
