I've got Friday planned as I'm out biking with a pal of mine, but Saturday through to Monday I have no set plans. The closest I've got to a plan is to just get out and ride!
Ok, I said no plans but I do sort of, have a very loose plan.
What I'd like to attempt is to meet at least one site member in as many counties as possible. I expect most, if not all, meets to be nothing more than a tea stop (with cake!), a chat and then off to the next one. Depending on the response that should take up the daytimes and then hopefully get to meet some of you in the evening for a beer/bite to eat.
These stops can be at your place, a roadside burger bar, cafe, pub or anything similar. I really don't mind. I'll even pay for your cuppa if it helps
You can even suggest somewhere and bring a flask!All I need to know is a location, county and whether you wish to meet up either in the morning, afternoon or evening, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. If anyone is wanting to meet up in the evening, please can you give me suggestions for local accommodation as your knowledge of your area is better than mine.
This is open to any site member, be you male, female, single, married, couple, whatever. If we've met before, fine. If not, that's fine too. Remember it's just a cuppa and a chat with absolutely no commitment to anything else unless you get the urge!
Once I've plotted my route I'll post on here the towns and counties I'll be going to, then if you feel you are close enough to the route you can either meet where I'm going already or suggest a new place. Although I'm hoping to meet at least one person per county I'm more than happy to meet others. There's some big counties out there!!
We live near Milton Keynes so I'm hopeful for invites from anyone across the whole of the South of England. If this idea catches on and turns out to be as much fun as I hope it to be I will do it again, but pick other areas with a view to covering (eventually) the whole of the UK.
Sarah will not be joining me on this as she isn't a biker :upset:, plus she is also working, however if there are any bikers out there who want to join me on any part of the ride, please let me know - it all adds to the fun!! :happy:
Please post in here if you are interested in either riding with me or to arrange a tea stop. The main details of where (precisely) and when will be done by PM. I or Sarah will update a list in this thread as it develops as to where I'll be going.
