Well, I'm the big 3 0 this year, and I’m absolutely dreading it !! :scared:
....So, I’m throwing a little Birthday Munch to turn it into something to look forward to!! :bounce: :happy: :bounce: :happy: :drinkies:
Darkfire’s 30th Birthday Munch will be in the North Derbyshire area on Saturday 2nd September 2006.
until am. There will be a disco and buffet, and no doubt plenty of entertainment and laughs from you lot! lol
The venue is booked and will comfortably hold 110 people; the guest list for the Munch is on a first-come first served basis, with a reserve list if necessary.
There’s no ‘entrance fee’, but I will be passing a hat round for voluntary contributions to help toward the cost of the room, DJ expenses and food, but this is entirely up to you :thumbup:
Badges
We will be having Munch badges, very kindly being provided by Kazswallows. If this is your first Munch and you have not had a badge made before, or your username has altered etc, please pm Kaz here and let her know the names to go on your badges ie : 'Darkfire' or 'Mr Darkfire' & 'Mrs Darkfire' if you're a couple :thumbup:
The Theme - 'Decadence & Debauchery'
The 'theme' is 'Decadence & Debauchery' (There’s more info about this on page 6)
‘Dressing up’ is entirely optional of course – but I’m thinking this could be a great excuse to dig out (or treat yourself to) sensual fabrics – velvet, silks, lace, satin, cashmere, leather…. maybe even cocktail dresses & dapper dinner jackets :twisted: … cleavages and corsets :twisted: .... Jewel like colours – golds, reds, purples, greens…....
for those who dont want to go the whole hog, be decadent & wear scarlett lipstick....or a corsage.... heady perfumes…..swathes of heels…...pashminas.....silk scarves....velvet chokers....sparkles.....glitter....sequins........ you get the idea! :lol2:
Even something as simple as treating yourself to a lovely long relaxing soak with your favourite bubble bath (or Lush stuff :lol: ) before the ‘doo’ instead of a quick shower !! there’s something for everyone in this theme !! Indulgence is the key!!
if anyone's really stuck for ideas, pm me - but I'm sure no one needs an excuse to be totally self-indulgent for just one evening! wink
Remember though - This is the theme as far as 'dressing up' goes - the event itself is purely social & is within a vanilla establishment so it's 'appropriately Indulgent' rather than OTT ! :wink:
Details
If anyone requires hotel details please pm me and I’ll send them out to you. As usual, actual venue details, directions, taxi numbers etc will be sent out a couple of days before the event, by pm only. Do not pass this information on to anyone else under any circumstances, tell them to pm me.
Photo's
Please do not bring cameras to the Munch.
There will be an official photographer or 2, who will take pics throughout the evening with permission only. Pics will not be posted on the site, and copies available by email only to those in the picture.
If you really really want to bring a camera, and have reason to, pm me to discuss - similarly if under no circumstances do you want your picture taken at the Munch, let me know please :thumbup:

Honest answer??? because i've been twenty-something for aaaages and still not got to where I want to be!
I set myself a few goals when I turned 20, and although I achieved them I'm doing nothing with them (education for example). Time is moving on, I'm getting older - and to me, thats not a nice prospect............. other than I supose I'll soon be considered a 'real woman' flipa :wink:
and 30 is like ........ the start of a very big slippery slope, its practically middle-aged !!!!!!! (Dark runs for the hills at this point :eeek: - please note, before anyone jumps on me - I am well aware i'm one of the 'youngsters' around here - but I'm talking about how Ifeel about hitting 30, not your lots age!! )

Dark, when I got to the age of 30 I felt really old!! But as time went on I kicked myself up the backside & thought ' you are as old as you feel, is 30 gonna put me off living? NO'
I'm now 37 & make the most of what I've got. In fact as the years go by I feel I'm getting younger! In my 20's was I swinging? No. In my 20's did I get to meet some fantastic people like you lot? No.

As I havent met you yet, I'll put you on the reserve list for now and move you up to the 'A' list ( rolleyes :lol: ) after we've met in person at the forthcoming munches. There's plenty of time bewteen now and September for us to cross paths at some point, but at the moment, the definates list is only for people I / Marcuso have met in order to ensure the safety of all those coming wink
