pre drinkies but just waiting to get comfirmation that I'm on the main list or reserve list for the

Hiya Shill...
Will put you on the reserve list for the pre drinks. I wont be sending out any information regarding venue until Somersetcouple have sorted out their own list. So no-one will know until a few days before hand.

:? Welcome to the site though, you'll soon get to know people by attending socials and munches. Try and get your name down as soon as you see a thread start in the future...you can at least guarentee yourself a place then. Good luck with getting on the main social list...

Probably a silly question, but I am sat here wondering why on earth this is limited only to those that are going to the evening social.
Not that it makes any difference to me, but seeing this limitation just bemuses me.
What about any local people who cant get out on the evening, but could maybe make it out during the day?
I would have thought that any opportunity for people to get together and socialise must be a good thing, but to have a social purely based on whom can attend an evening function is, for me, just bewildering.

Very community minded Manolishi... in my work I would have opened it up! But it isnt work
In answer: Im new to this. No-one has ever asked. And it really is for people to make some friends before the evening do... so Ive kept it for those attending. If anyone wants to change it in the future Im open to suggestions!

Hi Anais thank you for that honest answer.
Having organised a couple of pre-munch drinks in the past there has been occurrences where peeps can only make the pre-munch drinks, but not actually what is defined as the main event. That said, some pre-munch drinkies have actually been more successful than the event itself, hence my question.
I know this is a social not a munch, but the concept still remains true.
Anyway, it was just a question, which you have answered, so I thank you for that

just read manolishi's question about why limited to thoses attending main social event only and i think a good piont as been raised.
as the main social event seems to be well over subscriped this time and there is a long reserve list ( i believe ) why not open the pre-drinkies event to those who are local and want to attend but are unfortunate not be get onto the list for the main event - very much closer to the event that is.
don't know if this is feasible or not but just a thought

Im not ignoring your suggestion, but for the moment I shall leave it as it is and ask someone who has organised these many times on what they do.
I had no idea that members who werent going to the main social attended the pre drinks...
Please, anyone else with thoughts about this (whether your going to the social or not)...lets hear them. I would like to listen to everyones point of view and quite open to suggestions.

So on reflection, I am happy to allow those who cant attend the evening social or do not get on the main list to attend pre drinks.

2) Attendance at pre drinks does not give an automatic acceptance to attend the evening social. This is dealt with by Somersetcouple, not by me or anyone else attending pre drinks. Bribes are not accepted
If everyone is fine with those conditions its now opened up to allow others to attend.
