Hi All
With us Cumbrians being so remote, if we'd like to attend a social we nearly always have to do a lot of travelling... so I thought I'd just 'put the feelers out' to see if anybody would be interesting in attending a social?
I know from in the chat rooms that there are more Cumbrians on here than you'd think but how many of you would fancy having our own mini-munch lol
Cmonnnn saves some pennies on hotel bills!
Drop a reply on here if you'd be up for it and whether you think we should go for the traditional private function room or do something different?
Please let someone reply to this redface
Don't let me down Cumbrians!! :lol2:

Sounds like a cunning plan to me but are there enough bods about to justify the event who are genuine ? Have to include D&G as loads of good pals there.
Private venue probably a good idea knowing how these things go biggrin
Woo hoo! I knew I could count on you wink
Yeah I think we'd get a decent number of bods.. even if a quarter of the Cumbrians I've spoken to woudl be up for it.
Obviously it wouldn't be on the same scale as the others.. it'd be Cumbrian stylee cool lol
Cmonnn folks.. let's get this sorted

What's D & G btw? redface
Not locals but depending on dates, we may be able to have a drive up and see you all (well, I did work in Cockermouth for a while) wink
Private venue is often best if you do have a lot of people on the list, but why not try just arranging a night out at a local pub, or perhaps going bowling or something similar (just dont do any fell walking or anything were I cant wear heels)

Ohh excellent! Suppose it would be a nice change of scenery for some people huh.
:lol2: I still always laugh when I think of Cockermouth confused
I'll wait to see what kind of a responce we get then will look at dates/venues... though bowling sounds good, especially if it's only smallish group biggrin
xx
Excellent idea! biggrin

 Thanks for your support Artful
Would be good to meet you too! x
Ditto... x
Honestly, it's such a great idea, I can't understand why none of us thought of it before. I agree that there are probably enough of us to make it worthwhile, even if it was just a low-key affair.
Well done. Hope it happens. Keep us posted!
hi, just what we need a local bash, but for those that can`t wait we have a bikers camping weekend end of sept. re cockermouth it`s known locally as nob in gob and it would be a shame not to act on it. regards j
lol @ nob in gob
Pretty busy this month though I won't rule it out next time wink
Anyone else up for a Cumbrian munch then?
Please don't let this crash and burn lol
hell yes - you go for it!
we'll keep an eye open for the dates etc and if we're free we may even be persuaded to tootle on up the M^ and join ya
With reference to the question asked above, D & G = Dumfries & Galloway. Not utterly essential information of course, but it sure helps to keep the thread active... cool
Looks like it's going to be a small munch... lol

how can u organise that when you casnnot even txt
I can't see why it wouldn't work... it would be closer to the north east than most munches...
I would certainly make the trip across work permitting....
just go for it... Chose a date, and people will be in a better position to say yes or no.....

What's that supposed to mean??
Didn't realise people had been posting to this thread... I thought it was dead in the water ages ago lol

well as most of the northern lot travel down south for the socials / munches, only fair i'd do the same, so depending on dates. i'd love to come along.
although from ower the border only an hour away ,keep us posted ,sounds a brilliant idea as the scots socials usually further away ,always up for some socialising an tell that funlad to watch what he's saying or ill skelp his arse pam xxxx an dave
Cool!
Getting quite a bit of interest in the pm's too... I thought this idea was dead in the water, maybe not after all!
Keep your support coming people, if I get a bit more interest I'll definately organise one.... Just a little bit concious of organising one and hardly any fecker turning up lol
