we are down in B'ham that weekend and are planning to go to Chams on the Sat night, but hvent yet booke the hotel.

How ironic that the vast majority of posters on this subject about an evening which is 'couples only' are single people.

and your point being?
actually, from scanning through the thread theres a fair few couples going. as far as im aware those singles that are attending are pairing up to make couples for the evening. is that something you dont approve of? or that clubs dont approve of?
i prefer to partner with a friend and attend a couples night than go to a singles night and play alone. i wouldnt play alone in a club.
in edit: it has just been pointed out to me that some people may disapprove of singles getting together just to get in the door then parting ways once inside rather than playing together as a couple. i understand that point now, if thats what you were getting at? :thumbup:

and if you read the initial post it does say i will not be finding partners for people or pairing people up, you will no doubt find most of the single males on the thread wont be going, this is also posted somewhere else and the majority are couples, the others are singles that play with that partner regularly

Hello earthchild, you don't know us and we do not make snidey comments. The observations made by us are true and for alot of couples the idea of singles hooking up to get into a couples evening is just not right. When couples play with couples there is a hope that you are playing with a couple as equally committed to each other as you are.
As it happens we do play with singles as well as couples but it is with a completely different mindset.
No comment was made about your original post, only an observations as to how ironic that most of the posts in the thread were from singles talking about a couples only evening.
We would be horrified to be playing with a couple only to find out that they were not a couple at all. Couples share intimacy borne of familiarity and that is the attraction of playing with other couples.

ok maybe an apology about the snidey comments you put my back up
most of the people that have said they are going, the 'vast majority' actually are couples across the two sides with a minority of singles
i appreciate your comments about couples but the fact remains that this happens in clubs, the people that are going 'the singles' have not simply hooked up for the evening but as i said, are more than that
it obviously isnt a problem for all couples or there wouldnt be any on this thread or on the thread on the other place, you cant possibly know for certain in a club that the people you play with are a genuine, long term, committed couple unless you know them personally and very well so i cant see where the difference lies in us attending, at least you will know who to avoid so as not to horrify

too hot...have you seen the list of people who are attending this club evening? im going to assume not, youre claims of it being a majority of singles are unfounded.
also, do you ask to see the marriage certificate and references for a long term stable relationship before you play in a club? how would you know that a couple youre playing with were not a real couple by your standards?
you may be horrified at the thought of playing with two singles rather than a couple, that is your idea of swinging and youre of course completely entitled to that. not everyone holds the same view though :thumbup:
nobody is doing anything wrong here, as implied by you, and if you dont like it that there may be couples paired as couples on this evening, then you dont have to come
simple really. although, im sure there will be similar occurances at any swinging club in the counrty on couples nights, without your knowledge. this might be an idea for a discussion thread in the cafe tho, as you seem to feel strogly about it?
