Not quite the right section for this, but hard to judge what would be correct!
We were in the chatroom over Easter when the subject of the new Brighton club (Club77) came up. Quite a few members in the room were adamant that this club was now a failed project and was not happening. None of those people were forthcoming in regard to how they knew it was not going to happen, so we mailed the club direct, but disturbingly, have had no response!
Does anyone know for sure what is going on, as a club in Brighton is sorely needed.
Their website ( ) just says "coming soon"
It has said that since January! Last contact I had, was a reply to an email about 6 weeks ago which said all had been delayed, but would be opening by the end of March. The mail also said that the website would be updated frequently to keep people informed as to the progress of the club.
Since then, emails remain unanswered and the website has not been touched.
Well, we've had quite a few PM's (why does no one post a reply on the forum?) every one of which begins with a phrase something like " it is our beliefunderstanding" but not one reply that seems to be based on genuine knowledge. Much more significant, is the fact that there has still been no direct answer, either on this site, by reply to our direct emails, or on the clubs website, from the clubs organisers. Starting to look like the rumours we heard on here are true, which is a damn shame. Hopefully, even at this stage, it will turn out that the rumours are wrong, as Brighton is long overdue for some form of adult club.....Ah well!

Perhaps people don't know, or those who do don't read the forum? Maybe the owners/prospective managers etc aren't members of SH?
I hope you get a satisfactory resolution - either on here or via PM. wink
Perhaps I put it badly.....I apologise....
People have responded to my forum post with pm's almost exclusivly....I was a little surprised, thats all.
The club operators are indeed members of this site...
Rumours have been started by other members (including one moderator) of this site......was simply trying to find out if anyone had any genuine information, as opposed to speculation!
Maybe members saw this info:
opening feb 2010. a brand new swingers club in brighton, run by swingers for swingers This will be a members only club, so a good idea to visit website and register for free now! our facilities will include lounge, bar area serving snacks soft drinks tea and coffee showing the latest in adult films. massage rooms. dungeon/fetish room locker rooms. showers and toilets, and of course a whole host of playrooms. Our website is frequently updated so visit it often to get your free membership and to see latest updates

Take from Clubs section of the site.
If it is confirmed that the club isn't opening we will delete the club....
Hey....if only I could find out.....
That's the point, no one seems to know!
Have just had a reply, direct from the owners. It would appear that Legal requirements caught them unawares and the project is still ongoing. Apparently it is hoped that they will post some information on their website next week but they will not be giving any indication of opening dates as yet......
Wait and see guys!
Clubs cum and clubs go. Try Bristol Gardens in the meantime!
Thats not a club, it's a spa....and we don't particularly enjoy the gays in there!

I'm with you guys - it would be great to have a new place to play - lets keep fingers crossed but legs akimbo huh - best not hold our breath though as i bet the red tape will take ages ....
So much for posting an information banner on their website?
try bristol gardens sat and sunday nights as its couple only
Don't do the couples scene. Prefer single guys.
Another month and a half with no news, despite promises to update their website. It's a damn shame, we could definitely do with something in Brighton.
I fear that this project has "run away" from the prospective operators, being nearly 6 months since they posted their "opening soon" notices. Even though they keep saying it's still going ahead, common sense says not!
They can only be praised for trying I guess, in the midst of a recession.
I know and have spoken to one of the couples involved in this project. It would appear that they have been let down financially by one of the other partners which has put the project in jeapordy. At the moment the club wont be opening anytime soon but I am sure if the gap in the financing can be sorted it will open in the future.
Which is completely at odds with what one of the partners told us! Besides which, they really should be considering keeping their potential customers informed. Lets be fair, from what they told us. The fact that Brighton council, the health and safety people, insurers etc. etc. caught them totally unawares with their demands and the financial burdens of compliance with various regulations is what has jeopardised the operation. As they probably have not been able to exchange contracts on the lease without proving various compliances it seems highly unlikely that anything is ever going to happen.
Personal opinion, if we are being honest, is that jumping the gun with entries on club forums (not just on this site) and a website touting for members, when (6 months ago) they had obviously not even begun formal proceedings on the intended venue is at best foolish and somewhat amateurish. And before we get loads of abuse, we are not "attacking" or "abusing" the operators, rather, we have every sympathy. It would however have been better (and immeasurably more professional ) not to have 'jumped the gun" quite so readily.
