Well this is our personal view of erotica
Launch party : well says it all SUNK Never set sail total rip off
Erotica show : we went Saturday. It was like walking around a high priced shopping mall but with all the same stalls no atmosphere at all
Stages to small and poor viewing areas.
Food stall over priced
Erotica has been going down hill since the 4 th year and in truth cannot get any worse we where bored after 90 min. Just pleased we met some friends there.
After party. Well we went to hellfire. Very very poor double the normal entrance fee and they made no more of a effort so in our eyes a total rip off
And the DJ he must be deaf as we where Sunday morning try to chat and socialise Was more like shout and then they charged £1 for a coat and for soft drinks at 50% over normal fee should have been free . Did anyone get a welcome drink on arrival NO
And then the goodie back at the end. What utter rubbish. We told them to keep it. They needed it more than us.
So in summary with tickets, hotel, and taxi's and travel , We could have gone on a weeks late deal holiday nearly .
Erotica give it up pack up and live in your mansion you should have from ripping people off
Berlin next yr
We thought the show was good, great venue (why after show not there?) but from a swingers perspective two criticisms...
Swingers lounge...
This was great idea but no one was very sociable, the low seating made it difficult to even make eye contact let alone talk to anyone!
and maybe a sticker or wristband type system might be good idea? (know you cant play there) but at least fellow swingers would recognize each other and would help break the ice and have a talking point?
After show party....
The Hellfire club? why? its a lovely clean venue BUT its always freezing cold, and really cliquey with no atmosphere! hardly the definition of erotica?
and its not even in London!! surely Tobacco dock would have been an awesome venue?
those vaults would be perfect for a dungeon!
But have to say the SH team did a wonderful job and look forward to next year...

It's always difficult to judge with a 'new' venue what will work and what won't.
To give the organisers fair dues they did ask the exhibitors for 'feedback' so that they can improve it for next year and hopefully they will have taken on-board both the negative and the positive feedback.
You can always leave your feedback on the organisers website:
From SH's perspective, we learnt a lot, so if we're there next year we will be better.
We won't be back to the day show anytime soon as there wasn't much there that we couldn't find in Soho.
The after party at Hellfire was a little slow to start with everyone just looking at everyone else, too shy to make the first move. Not sure why the organisers didn't make more effort to get everyone talking - why no coloured wristbands or 'facilitators' who went around talking to couples and introducing them to others there? There were a lot of people (us included) that have never been there before and didn't really know what to do to get the party going.
Once it started, it was great as there was a lot of playing going on out in the open and we really enjoyed ourselves once we joined in. All in all, it was a nice night that could have been better if a little attention was paid to the little details.
well don't know where to start, We went with friends who like us thought it would be a great day out they have never been before, we walked the show twice incase we missed something out, I have got to say apart from meeting the 3 people we met in the sh lounge and the girl in the press office that was it for us, the rest of the show was worse than any other year we have been, the trade stands just were not enough not by a long way. they need to have double that amount.
I found it disappointing. I found the shows in Olympia friendly , good atmosphere and a decent crowd. Also more people tended to dress up for the occasion. Venue difficult to get to, and lacked the atmosphere and social feel of previous shows. I doubt I would go next year.
it was the worst show I have ever been to I have been to country fair with more to see and atmosphere even the hotel was boring at least in the Hilton everyone meet in the bar even if they weren't staying there
it could be so much but they have it so wrong
the sex industry has so much they could host it all next year they should have it in the nec in Birmingham there's lots of clubs there with good cheap hotels near them and they should have every thing to do with the adults in the show clubs, web sites, hotels, dating sites, adult health, clothes in leather, pvc, rubber, etc, toys, furnisher burlesque, fetish the list is so long if they done the work and got 1 stall from each category they would fill every hall in the nec
they would have to do a cheap entry now to get the crowds back but if they have any sense next year would run at no profit but the next when they have proved themselves they can put the price up because people will want to go there to show and see,
its not rocket science is it 10 stalls 2 hours max a few people and no one will go back or 1000 to 2000 stalls well you work it out er? otica
