Fancy a concert with Mal on Thursday 26th?

It's little ol' me again lol

I happen to have a pair of tickets to see Mark Knopfler (the lead singer of Dire Straits) in concert at the MEN Arena in Manchester next Thursday. As yet, I have no-one to go with :cry: ! I am stopping over in Manchester that night as well.
Is there anybody who would like to join me for the concert? Tickets are already paid for, so no cost involved. If you don't fancy the concert (he's not everyone's cup of tea!), but fancy meeting for a beer afterwards, that would be good too.
Either on here or by PM will be fine. :lol:

Knopfler my favorite "cause im sailing to philadelphia the northern line" ooooohhh so tempted saw dire straights many years back at Woburn Abbey so glad i got to see them before he went solo. biggrin

hope you enjoy it
in the late 80s and early 90s he used to come into the dean swift in the east end of london and do impromptu sessions
the pub bands were usually shocked when he fired up and electric guitar in the public bar with the opening bars of walk of life or money for nothing

Just give it time, Bart. You can't rush these things. It will happen if you have patience.
Just to clarify in case I have put some people off - for the concert, I would prefer to take someone I already know or have chatted to on here. As for a drink afterwards, that can be anyone at all.

Just a quick report back on this.
The concert was great, with Mark playing a lot of the old Dire Straits stuff as well as his solo tunes. His encore being 'Money for Nothing', which was ace and was also listened to by one more than was in the audience when I rang someone up and just let them listen!! lol

In response to my post I was accompanied by a lovely lady from here and then we met up with a couple more afterwards. Thank you to all of you for making it a great night. :lol: :lol:
