Welcome Maccstar to the forums and I really hope that your approach does work for you. Its not that we are criticsing your approach but we have found from experience that on this site the best way to get involved is to get to know people a little before you expect them to want to meet. That is not always the case and some people do get lucky from their very first post, but the majority of people seem to want to know a little bit about you before they meet. It is a safety thing, not a lot of us would want to take the risk of meeting a complete stranger.
Munches are an ideal way of getting to know people, and so is using the forums regularly, joining in with the banter and letting people see your personality. It also helps if you make your ad stand out from the rest. You have to remember that there are thousands of single blokes for every couple or single female and you have to make these people want to contact you rather than the other 999!
I wish you all the luck in the world and hope that whatever approach you take, that it works! lol
