but had you thought about which area of Essex sweetheart.... It's a big county and perhaps if people knew roughly what area your talking about, they might be able to say yer... thats close enough for me to pop along for a pint or 2 etc... etc...

Glad to see you are getting over your nervousness, Tinksy. It's a pity you didn't go to the Rios meet or the Essex Drinks meet that you put your name down for, as you would have found that we do welcome newbies!
As for pubs in Romford, I don't know the area too well, but I'd avoid the really busy binge-drinkers paradise/semi-night club ones on South Street, maybe I'm an old fogey, but I can't hear myself think in there.

I second that it's a big place (I used to live there and cycled through most of it :!: ) and now I live North of it it's even bigger because places like Southend are forget it jobs from here but other bit are possibilities for me.

I only venture there during the day and thats bloody busy enough..... I don't do very busy places too well... i have a tendancy of getting drunk and just buggering off home if I can't find people i can blether too redface

But there might be some not so bad pubs just around Romford.... biggrin

which could be in my favour.... but as for everyone else... dunno

keep at it tinksy..... and ere... why didn't you turn up saturday ???? Gives off bad karma you know...

i couldnt turn up due to gettin my daughter for a day or two...... idrop everything for her dont get to see her much due to work...sorry

Is it me or has this meet up been very messy? Tinksy you only gave ppl a few hours to respond about brentwood before saying no-one can make it.
If I was you, I would arrange a venue etc before posting a meet up, that way people will have the info from the start and you will keep the interest!
