AS the topic suggests what would be the outcome of a newbie like myself setting up a munch around the Manchester area.
Would people come as thay have not met me in person before, would it be more appropriate to go on one of the many excursions around the NW area fist so everybody knows who i am??

Personally speaking, I'd say your best bet is to come to one of the many social events held in the NW and get to know people before you start planning your own.........

Like Blue said....go to one of the other munches first.....besides a lot of time and effort goes into setting up a munch do you really want to burden yourself with that yet?

plus as da69ve quiet rightly says if you do organise something and it goes 9-11 on you you will never want to do anything in public ever again

i'd go to one of the more established munches ( i'm still waiting to make it to one ((work comitments and all) then get to know every one that way.
