Rollo Tommasi recently put a post up asking if anyone wanted to go out in London to the theatre etc. I was the only person to say yes. So.................tonight we went to see the UN Inspector at the National Theatre and it was a great evening out. We can't be the only people in here in London who want to go out for an evening - or are we rolleyes
Anyway - for anyone interested in some evenings out in London, get in touch with myself or Rollo lol

was it any good? haven't been to the theatre for years. last time I went I saw "gasping" by ben elton very funny
It was seriously good. We both were laughing out loud at points. The characters were very well played by top quality actors, the script was spot on (it is an old Gogol play "The Government Inspector" re-written to bring it into context, and you could have been thinking it was set in 10 Downing Street such was the accuracy of the context), but it was poignantly accurate in terms of the way humans act to each other at some points - a black border around a sparkling performance.
I would urge anyone with the opportunity to get along to see it - it isn't on for much longer, and if you go on the right nights you can get in for a tenner.
These nights out do not have to be just theatre nights - they can be a meal out, bowling, drink and chat etc etc. Sort of mini munches I suppose lol Any other suggestions? rolleyes
I expect these nights out would be during the week, so those who can't make weekend events have a chance to meet genuine people off the site biggrin
Hi Bernie I'm always up for a night out in London, would be good to break up my week, as long as you don't mind a loafer on your sofa. kiss biggrin

As I left the British Museum last week I noticed an add for a forthcoming Japanese exhibition called "Heroes of Kubaki. "
I must be getting dyslexic in my old age as I nearly booked a ticket smile

If we have drinks up near Euston, we can pour you onto a train about 5pm - you should be able to get there in plenty of time.
Bernie - I'm in, by the way!

Blimey Rollo - I never even realised wink

OK- we need some central point so that those who have somewhere to go later can get there easily. If you are not bothered whereabouts we go thats fine - however, if a certain area of London would be easier for you then PM me and we can sort that out. lol

You're free this weekend? How much do you charge usually? lol
17th September is fine for me. I struggle to commit to the big events. (Quite often the closing date has passed before I've found out I can go). So a wee local last minute thing is great for me.
If I'm welcome then I'd love to come along.
CQ
i would love to come for a drink and meet new people from her.
al
sounds good idea last minute thing, when you have a time and place let me know
i will try to make it
As a london boy should make the effort
There are also some nice pubs along the south bank of the river
ooohhhhh - a nice little list coming together now
Robert1961 - The South Bank sounds good - but as its right on my doorstep would it seem selfish going there? :giggle:
I am also starting my Salsa classes again on Monday - in Holborn area from 7pm till 9pm - but you can carry on dancing till later. A fellow male SH member who came along a few times said - I have never had so many partners in one night (dancing partners of course wink ) It's great fun and you WILL be able to do some basic salsa steps at the end of the evening. PM me if you wanna come along
