Midweek Socials in LONDON

I`m thinking of starting a midweek social in London, different venues from time to time but mainly as a get together after work,i want to gauge how many would want to attend if i did start it...
I`m going to suggest it would be on Thursdays in the area (to start with) of Liverpool street..Can always decide new places every month
Nothing concrete but who would be up for it starting in three weeks time?

Midweek is very hard for us but maybe would be able to make it from time to time, if its a regular thing.

I`m going to suggest a method like this..
1.) those interested PM me, can i suggest we keep the numbers small first. say 10 people (5 male, 5 Females)i can then PM everyone with a suitable venue and time
2.) we need to establish an identifying method, this can be agreed within a PM and decided on by all attending, couples are more than welcome and will be added to in the numbers invited,
3.) If you arent PM`d and invited it isnt because your not welcome in the future, this is the first attempt and i`d like to be able to keep control, the numbers will be expanded hopefully and teething troubles sorted out.
4.) so as to prevent timewasters can i also suggest that those wishing to attend have been members of the SH site for 3 months. (this may change after the first night)
5.) Finally, this IS NOT intended to be a pickup point where a shag is on the cards, i would like to spend time in the company of people (pref females!!) who are likeminded, if people decide afterwards they want to go further then that`s down to them, but ladies and gents, its a meet for a couple of hours in a pub to have a laugh and a drink,
i am too busy at the weekends to have meets and find after work would be better for me.

Due to popular demand and the huge response (lack of), i shall have to organise a larger venue, therefore if anyone knows of a telephone box that can take more than two people then it would be appreciated..... lol rolleyes

You've had nine people respond, plus yourself - that makes the ten people you required. Sort a venue and definite date out and people will decide whether or not they can make it.

i would love to meet mid week, for a social.
but, alas, some of us work nights.
sun to thurs.
so the best time for a social is the weekend in london.
but, watch this space, robert1961 and myself will be sorting another socia sometime after christmas, maybe beginning of feb

I'd be up for this - diary permitting.
Despite the name I often work in London during the week,so a social after work hours sounds a good idea.

I think a regular social would be a good idea... nodoubt it would start small at first... but word of mouth...popularity through the forums etc etc... you never know.
not so sure about the stipulations about identifying methods and all that jazz mentioned earlier... parhaps a more relaxed approach might work...
a small venue,friendly backroom in a ppub at first,no great shakes,no whistles and bells,just a small gathering of an evening where folk whohave expressed an interest can dropin.
obviously, with venue changing, those available on a given date could respond to the SH Monthlies when it's posted in the forums, and the venue can be be forwarded via pm... being a social, I guess the rules about who can attend can be quite loose... making attendance quite fluid... though I'm no expert on rules & regs... >can someone advise?<
I know there are other *scenes* that have thier regular meetings... not sure sure how the SH community might feel about a relaxed approach though.
Openly publishing venue and date might scare some off, but also, the fuss of lists and pm's every month might be too much hassle.
