Sorry I don't know of any munches in the NE, there is one for the NW in Wigan. Sadly munches seem to be coming a thing of the past. Yes munches where a great way to meet people and still are when you can find one. People these days tend to organise socials, still great ways to meet folks.

Munches and Socials are posted into this Lets Meet Up forum, with Munches always being flagged as a 'sticky' and therefore appearing on the top of the page, whereas Socials are below all the other 'sticy' items/Munches, only rising to the top of the opening page when updated.
It's also worth looking under under Entertainment, on your left hand side of the screen at :: Events http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/events/, as users have the options of posting Socials or Munches either on the Lets Meet Up forum, or via :: Events, or in some cases under both
