A social In newcastle/durham in DEC
ANY1 interested drop me a line with suggested dates & venue & we'll take it from there.

WOW, that was a bit want to sound miserable but people on here decide to go to "anywhere" of their own accord.
Dont think there was any need for that "lecture" as lots of threads on boards advertising nites out, get togethers and the poor guy didnt say a "swinging" nite as such, just a social christmas nite out.

I think that steph would actually say the same thing to anyone trying to organise any event.. whether that be social or munch....
The security issue is one that is a very live topic for a lot of people on here... and with the way the newspapers are could you imagine if for example a reporter from one of the local rags were to get onto this..... have a look at when the journal did a 5 page expose on nortumberland dogging and you'll understabd why....
for example... in the other newcastle couple/bi fem meet thread which you answered in... the name of the pub you were all going to meet in was in the thread.... I advised them to take it out...anyone could have read that....anyone could have turned up... and how would you have felt if they did......
Newbies are always going to feel excluded.. because i wish we could trust every single person that came onto the site....but this is the real world and we can't... hence getting known...
i wish i could but my name up and say I would help you organise this... but having taken the best part of a couple of months organising the last north east munch (which both the original poster and you were both extended invites to..... the original poster let me know he couldn't come....you just never bothered to get back) I am going to take some time out and not commit to anything at this point in time....
I do hope a regular poster does decided to help him out... the north-east deserves more than one event a year...

Just would like to add to Steph's and fabio's posts.
Some of do have jobs that are affiliated to professionals bodies and yes we can be sacked - it is a very real threat.
And it isn't that hard to get to invited to organised event if you put a bit of effort into it - get posting - worked for us and we're on lists fro two. And no we haven't tried to be anyone that we're not. You only get found out! We're not particulalry witty or anything like that either
We haven't felt ostracised, ignored or anything negative. A bit of elbow grease is what's needed

I have organised a few "socials" in the NE.............. and thats exactly what they were !
SOCIALS !!! not a munch or a party !
Open to all .............. most people who attended were new ! I dont believe that someone who makes a few posts in their first month is any more genuine than someone who joins and only responds to ads

ALright ..Thanks for all the advise did not take it personal,
SOCIAL NIGHT CHRISTMAS DRINK.
I also have a responsable job so the advise was good.
