There is a time for PM's and there is a time for open posting. I felt, in this instance, that an open posting was the most appropriate. I did not consider my approach aggressive and my reasons for posting was so that other Site members could see that a decision had been made. If they had read the post, they would understand that the same thing could apply to them. If I had PM'd this info and action had been taken, what had already gone before could still be used by others to say 'well, you let them keep bumping their post...', even though I had asked them to stop at that point. This post has had 33 replies as I type this, of which 19 were by the hosts and 6 by Mods. Doesn't leave a lot of attention coming from others, does it? Working on the principle that you would bump this every two days, we would be looking at approximately another 25 bumps!! That would try the patience of a saint. If you put this up so far in advance to generate interest and allow folk to make arrangements, then you have to be prepared for it to fall away if people don't post on it. Fact. We are not here to continually read your bumps, we have a hell of a lot more to do on this site than continually monitor your party ad. If the links in your signatures, plus the ad itself don't create enough replies, that is just unlucky.

You know, I just HATE being asked if I've had a bad day when doing a bit of modding and I just HATE it when modding becomes subject to open poll.
It doesn't take a bad day to get pissed off with some people on this site.

Well if the Mods decisons are made in the open, i guess it is natural there will be open discussion to follow. The worst part about this is we're not trying to upset anyone we just wanted our Ad to be visible to those who might not have seen it. Instead our party thread ends up in a 'discussion' and we get publicly told off for something inoffensive and which we had no idea was against AUP or frowned upon.
I don't want to argue about this anymore, the moderators have made their position clear - Three of them on this thread and since we have no choice that has to be respected.

Oh - you ALWAYS have a choice - you just choose the wrong option and piss everyone off!
I have tried in the past to smooth things over by PM when you have pissed others off. I even offered a solution which has been partly been taken up but STILL the continual bumping of your own (empty) thread happens.

I agree, no problem with that at all.

EVERYONE who posts in here wants their post seen at the top, but everyone else realises that they are one of many.

It is not against the AUP. However we cannot legislate for every conceivable incident. That's why everyone has common sense and we also have "Moderators Discretion."

Yes there is music & yes people do stand around talking and some people choose to 'go off' as couples or triples or more!!!
Some people hang out in the pool while others prefer to hang out in the play room although its safe to say that everybody 'hangs out'...!!! wink

Our parties are very relaxed and chilled out and we carefully select our guests.
Our parties are predominantly soft-swap but some couples do go in for the full swap option.

My partner and I were set to go to the last party you guys had but thought we'd wait until after Christmas when we were a bit less strung out. Thing is, we'd love to go but it's very complicated for non-drivers as taxis back to where we are cost a fortune. What do people normally do? Drive, Taxi? Does that mean most people live near the venue? We're in Guildford...any other Guildfordians going???
Would like to make it - it's the day before my BIRTHDAY! woo hoo!

erm.... attendance list.... well I'd be lying if I said I knew!!!
We have very restricted internet access currently - hence our absence from daily forum life - so its tough coordinating everything.
However we had about 12 couples confirmed way back in December and we have loads of applications to go through and Mel has lots of people she needs to call.
I would imagine that the end number will be somewhere around the 20 mark.

I remember a while back you said single girls were invited. It doesn't really make a diference I guess but just curious whether single women do go to parties like these.
I'm still immensely excited. Getting a bit tricky making excuses about why I'm not 'doing anything' on the saturday night of my birthday though bolt

Have had to tell family my friends are throwing a party, and some friends my family are doing summat. Obviously I've told some people... :grin:
