Rio's social meet 23rd July 2005

I am interested as I have never ever been to Rio's and it would be nice to meet some of you again, and try harder to work out who some of you are (I get so infuriated at my complete inability to remember who anyone is redface

)
I have read the reviews on here and looked at their website and have abolutely no idea whatsoever what to do / expect nor the etiquette of such a place, so If I make it to the guest list can someone please help confused

OOPPSS...just been told off on messenger for double booking ourselves for this and a friends camping weekend at a VW Fest. It will be his cars first Show outing and hope its going to win a prize, so want to go and support him. Its really a gorg car and cant wait to see it!

In that case can I please borrow them, I need something to help me.
By the way mikec did I speak to you at Wishy's do. I always see your name on the forums but cant recall you (but then again I didn't recognise poor old jiggle and had met him before).
Two further thoughts. I don't swim (last date I swam was 31 May 1992) and if I go in a Sauna my glasses will steam up and I will go blind, so will there be anything there I can do.
Well done for indicating it's the afternoon I was beginning to panic I would get chucked out ten mins after arriving when couples night started.

Harry you don't have to swim, the jacuzzi's are only waist deep or so, and have ledges which act as seats all the way round, you can chat at the bar, chill out on the lounger type chairs, watch TV, I think they normally have the sport type stations on, there is also a sun deck outside so if the weather is warm enough you can go out there.

Sounds good - I've never been in a Jacuzzi before (I am only 30 so yet to enjoy such cultural things)

Hi, I'd like to come - being a club virgin it would be nice to see what the inside of one looks like. Don't worry, I know it's a social only. I've already met quite a few of the people coming (including yourself, I think, albeit briefly at a (not yours of course!) 40th birthday party ) so that'll help any nerves and had my arse groped by at least 2 of them smile

Hey everyone
I went out shopping for some new kit to go to Rio's in and haver purchased a very expensive and tateful pair of flip flops. They are navy blue with a red, white and blue go faster strip around the sole.
It was suggested to me whilst out dogging last night that I practice wearing them in private first. Just had my first training session in them. The bit in between my big and index toe has immediately implanted itself and hurts lol.
I've got a few weeks to adjust.

The flip flops are to wear on my feet!
I am assuming Rios wont let me wear my slippers in there, if there are wet areas trainers or shoes are out,so if I dont want to get cold feet whilst in the bar or TV lounge it seems that flip flops are the answer (though if it means noone will talk to me I might have to abandon that idea altogether)
It also dawns on me, that if I am walking around with just a bulging towell on, where do I keep my money for buying vodkas for all you lovely ladies and a pint of their finest (whatever that may be, I dread to think) for me?
As someone who has never been to such a place is there an idiots guide on what to bring? (ie towells, correct change for lockers etc etc?)

Thanks Vodka Babe, I got carried away with the moving virtual tour last time I looked at their website and forgot to check the important stuff.
The best pub in that area I know of is probably a tad too far away Chris. I'll have to do some CAMRA research for a real ale pub nearby.
