Amazingly I was the first to arrive (albeit I was 20 mins late). The evening grew till we had a nice number there but then I had to bugger off early on my granny shopper (I've bought two granny shoppers but sadly neither of them came with grannies!) for my last train home (I'd even paid out a few quid extra for a ticket to King's Cross so I could stay longer) and I have to say (in addition to the above retorts)
Asto the kidnapping I left far too late in typical style pedalled like an idiot across London but caught every red light save one so missed my last train home 2315 by 3 minutes, I could have got a train to Cambridge then cycled 17 miles home on the granny shopper but fortunately femBernie had had the foresight on my departure to realise I was going to miss it and gave me her mobile (a life saving act :D ) and the offer to stay so I was able to ring back make contact and go back to the pub to finish off the evening.
Huge thanks to Norfolk Cpl for arranging this and giving me much needed food later in the evening and for giving me a bed for the night, we all had a great laugh and chat and was pleasure to be with you.
Apologies to everyone else I never got time to speak to, good to see you again tulip.
There were no trains I could take my bicycle on till this afternoon, so spent 4 hours plus in Rio's (and still only managed one very short conversation with one woman, sigh).

Thank you to everybody that came to our social, it was great meeting you all and we really enjoyed the evening. Was nice to feel so at home in london and get to know some really lovely people down here. Thank you for everybodys interest inn the social even if they couldn't make it in the end and we are sure if we keep working in london we will host more and hope to get to other peoples. Was also lovely to see some familiar faces ie harry and tulip. Hope to meet more of you soon.
