I can just add that what you complain about is the very reason why all new members are advised to 'join in' and get known - that way the possiblity of being stood up (for both men and women) is diminished greatly. Sadly, there are a large number of idiots and nutters out there who take GREAT pleasure in winding people up, leading you up a garden path and generally a pain in the arse.
