mate i have seen you in the chatroom... but if i didn't, then to the forum user it would look a bit dodgy... so mal was right to say the forum users don't know you from adam......
p.p.s... i tend to find taking that attitude with a mod is the quickest was to a booting...so i would wind it in and aoplogise....

You're absolutely right - I should get the facts. And I did, by asking the appropriate questions, which is part of my remit on here. However well known in the chatroom you are, that doesn't equate to being well known in here. If I went into chat, pretty much everyone would wonder who I was, because I don't use it, pretty much like you haven't used the forums, until today.
I have no problem at all with you having a party and I hope you have a great one, but let's put this into perspective. Hundreds of single guys join us every month, make one post and then disappear, pretty much along the lines of your first post. Why should I think any different of you than I do of them? Perhaps if you had explained a little bit more about you than you did, we wouldn't be having this discussion, would we?

Actually Darren, I do take offence. We work bloody hard as it is to make this Site what it is and we do it voluntarily. I resent someone who has literally just joined telling ME I'm nosey. How I operate on this Forum is sweet fuck all to do with you and I suggest that you wind your neck in right now or you will be an ex-member for the only reason of getting up my nose the quickest!

You're right, the mods do a good job of keeping us all safe. How can they do this without asking the appropriate nosy questions? Why pm people if they have posted in the open forum anyway - they shouldn't be worried if they have nothing to hide, should they?

An apology is exactly that. Not an apology wrapped up in you saying I had misread or misinterpreted your statement trying to make out you were right all along. It doesn't cut it.

There are some who give and some who take. I give my time willingly and freely for the good and benefit of the site. It doesn't make me immune from making mistakes or from taking criticism. but what I don't have to take is comments like yours which are unnecessary or uncalled for. Remember this?

This was posted by you when upset by a moderators comments. So you obviously don't like people being rude to you, but you're quite happy to have a go at me. A couple of times you have mentioned that you don't care if we ban you - why? Are you baiting us? Do you want to leave? Nobody is stopping you leaving and we don't need to keep the numbers up, we already have thousands of members and losing one more isn't really going to make any of us burst into tears.
This is a free Site, you are not owed a right to be here and are allowed access due to the goodwill of the Site owner. Many people contribute to the Site, members by their posts and Moderators for the time they give up to maintain the standards of the site. Others just take, take, take. Ok, we knew that when we started as mods, but it doesn't mean to say we have to take snipes from people such as you.
So stand up and be counted Adventurer. Either confirm one way or the other. do you wish to go or do you wish to stay? Are you someone who will add value to the Site with your posts or someone who is a 'taker'?

and yes they are nosey... there are meant to be!.. there job is to watch over the forum and make sure it runs smoothy.

what is your problem with me hosting a party?In a nutshell. This is basic safety stuff. By failing to anticipate this question, you risk leaving people thinking that you are organising a party without giving a single thought to their safety needs.
