**South (yes SOUTH) West Munch?**
Now it's all well and good giving the title as South West Munch however being 20 miles off Lands End looking up don't really qualify Bristol even as South West... it's better to refer to it as gateway to the southwest and then look at Devon and Cornwall as being SW!!! (does this sound as though I goton me high horse???) I should also point out the Somrset is SW however Avon is the gateway... it's half day journey to get there and the reason we live in the SW??? cos we ain't into cities!!! big masses of concrete!!! however I am into city folk!!! (sometimes balls deep into them!!!)
Anyway what I was trying to express is the fact that perhaps opting for a venue more into the southwest would be more of an ideal....

I would love to meet you guys after swapping chats in the ol cafe, The Portsmouth munch is going ahead in a mini form this weekend (Shameless plug I know) but I would love to go to a SW munch despite the drive, so count me in if you pull it off.
I suggest you ask the mods to sticky you... it not painful honest ;) and then you can get organising...

:D Glastonbury's well local to us, but anywhere in the south west is cool 
we need to arrange something, just a few surgestions, good pub where you can get a good meal, ten-pin-bowling, or club, in the areas of Taunton, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, etc - if you need a hand setting somthing up we would love to helpBob

I wasn't getting arsy bout it earlier sorry! but it does get so frustrating stuck in the back end of nowhere with all this great countryside and not being able to meet too many due to the shy reserved nature of the community down here... problem is every one knows everyone!!! hell we all fuck!!! whats the prob??? hehehee!!!

OK, I am gonna look into who's field it is. Honestly, it is at the butt end of our garden, so we could use the house for the loo, kitchen, shower etc.
The pub is about 200 yards away from our house, too.
Just need to tell the owner of the field that I have a bunch of mates wanna come over, and s/he needs to know no more!

I would love to come and also happy to help out in any way I can. I am good with Sandwich making, Cream Teas, Erecting Tents etc oh and yea getting the drinks in (always makes me popular somehow)
I love the pics of the two lovely looking ladies who seem to have taken the bull by the horns(Vix and Mars)...or should it be sheep by the short and curlies

What is a munch? I don't know I've never been to one - perhaps some experienced member of SH would care to enlighten me as well.....
But I suspect it is whatever we make it. At the very least I would expect food, drink and good company (in increasing order of importance) - a chance to meet each other socially and see how we all get on?
Maybe we can thrash out some dates? What about the weekends of 28th/29th august or 4th/5th sept?
Location? Either Somerset or North Cornwall? I'd have to enquire regarding the camsite availability....

What with threads sinking to the bottem of a page in the space of a few minutes, I never saw this till today when I searched for "anything happening in the southwest, no matter how seemingly unimportant it my seem, you damn computer!"

I know of a campsite in somerset that advertises specifically for "members of certain Adult Groups". If there's enough interest I'm happy to visit and check it out.

Camping friday to sunday gets my vote, especially in this weather! If we camp near a pub then that allows for everyone to be happy. Sure a few hotels will rear the heads too.

Mmm, not sure one that advertises for certain members is the best to go for? For one thing I thought a munch was mainly a meeting that didn't descend into an orgy, so any campsite would be ok. Besides, a poll a while back (I found that in at the same time I found this thread) suggests that the most popular place for a SW munch was Devon with 31% of the vote.

As to the organising, what say we cut through the crap and organise it ourselves then get a beautiful local girl to front the munch so we at least attract one other person than ourselves? But even with three of us, at least we tried and partially suceeded... what do you think? Personally I think you should keep it all in public (the info not the munch), these PMs keep things secret and fill up your inbox and stops everyone seeing that the idea is still hot. Besides that, if the host drops out or their email access goes down, then the whole thing grinds to a halt.
That way you can have it the first w/e of September, which gets my vote too.
