So the original idea was to have it in the field at the back of Vix house, and make use of her facilities.
As that isn't feasible, are we looking for the nearest thing - a campsite near Bristol/Somerset, walking distance to the pub, etc?
Wouldn't mind travelling further afield - down to devon or something if it is definate and a similar scheme.

Hello..
I'm a newbie to SH, and am based within an hour's drive of Bristol, and know the city very well. I was reading you ideas for a meet with interest. Why not have a meet in one of the traditional Country pubs in the Chew Valley, such as Chew Magna? It's just to the SW of Bristol and just off the M5, and is a beautiful part of Somerset.
I was just wondering whether I could come along to one of these munches etc.. I guess Vix is organising this. Perhaps I could PM one of you my personel details, a photo to recognise me by etc... and then let me know if I can come along? I am free on both the weekends coming up. If 11th Sept is no good, how abt Sat 6th Sept?
Oh, and being Welsh myself, I can categorically state that we are obviously the experts on Sheep shagging...if it was an Olympic games event, then Wales would win easily. Do you have a favourite breed? :shock:
I quite like the Herwick found in Cumbria...nice soft wool and easy to catch! The indiginous Welsh mountain sheep round where I live are starting to get abit wise to the situation and have learnt to run from anyone in wellies and a waxed Barbour jacket.
Im abit wary of Cattle though...last month I nearly got stampeeded by a herd of Freisian and Hereford Bullocks...I made the mistake of running..or rather, my walking companion cowardly broke out into a sprint (having calmly and sensibly agreed that we should walk our way out of our predicament so they would not charge us) as we were followed down this large field buy 20+ cattle, all mooo-ing insanely, whereupon we had to despairingly vault over a fence with the horns of the nearest Bullock right up our arses! To compund our misery, the fence was topped off with cruel-looking, rusty barbed wire, and if I had been wearing looser fitting shorts (or, more acturately, was more well hung) It could have been in abit of a painful situation. Not to mention the embarrassment in the hospital A&E department and the Tentanus Jab.... Ohhh,...matron.
